We are now loving our time here. I am getting very used to doing nothing but topping up my tan swimming in the sea... not to make you jealous at all! We are moving on the Bangalore on monday than back to our Sri Lanka next friday. I am really looking forward to coming home now Arthur keeps on telling me not to extend my time any longer dont worry Art the thought of Christmas in a Buddist country isn't that appealing! lol I went to an amazing market last wednesday it was like a massive Camden market so as most of you would know i felt very at home there! I will write a better blog when I have actually done something of interest rather than the beach! Looking forward to seeing you all in ... read more

Well I arrived at last! it was amazing getting on a plane again and experiencing a little of the good life! We arrived in Chennai and I suddenly felt how lost we are in this massive country! It is very similar to SL but with greater extremes. We spent the first couple of days in Chennai by which time we had experienced a proper monsoon to the extent of the whole city being under a foot of water which all the locals assured us was ‘normal’! It then got to our time to get on the 23 hour sleeper train to take us to Goa. After some initial problems when we found out we were the only ones waiting for the train who didn’t actually have tickets yet and were still on the waiting list even ... read more

We arrived in Goa still with no idea which beach to head to, queued up at the taxi stand, read down the list and decided on Baga. It was described in the lonely planet and being very touristy, Cangalute just a few miles down the road is apparently package holiday central. When we arrived the place seemed so quiet compared to everywhere we'd been to and because of the high number of tourists in the high season there were plenty of places to eat, drink and sleep nearby. We checked into a hotel that was again recommended by the lonely planet as being a good one but was actually a bit of a dump. But we decided it would do and it would give us plenty of satisfaction to tell the taxi driver we didn't want ... read more

Dear all I am reeeeally veeeeery frustrated and annoyed right now and am refraining from using any bright colourful language! You will have just been notified of my mumbai blog update and may have noticed that there is a distinct lack of photos... $&*%!!! For whatever reason my camera's memory card has just gone blank and I have a feeling that I have lost all the photos taken in Mumbai and Goa... $&*%!!! I am gutted - there were some awesome photos, particularly where I applied "the rule of thirds"... $&*% $&*% $&*%!!! Anyhow, I promise to keep snapping and hopefully will have some fab photos for you soon. Ciao 4 now tutti, Sad Seamus :(... read more

Our last few days in Goa were spent packing. We had the bar to pack away for another season. It’s amazing how much junk you accumulate over 6 months, a roaring bonfire put that in order, only problem was the leaping flames managed to shrivel a section of the mango tree, luckily the fruits weren’t damaged and the landlady got a good crop this year. We also had the apartment to pack away, everything back in to the suitcases and boxes for another 5 months. We also have 2 bikes and the car to put into storage so as you can imagine it’s a busy time for us and at the end of it all we are totally knackered. Then there was the accountant to sort out, taxes to pay and we also had to find ... read more

Well Barry certainly enjoyed his party last night but is paying for it today. He woke up at 2pm, ate the bacon sandwiches I made for him and went straight back to bed. He said that he actually does feel 40 today but looking at him now lying in bed with bits of glitter and silly string stuck to his face and dribbling like mad I'd say 50 is nearer the mark......and I'm still only 35!!! (he he) The party started off quite tame. The lads had decorated the bar with balloons and "Happy Birthday" banners and twirly crepe paper (yes....you still get that out in Goa). Next came the cards and presents, he got some really nice stuff. The lads (Shooters staff), Raj, Lucky and Ali gave him some Viagra, Stud, Lubricating jelly, acne cream ... read more

Not a lot been happening with us since our last Blog. Shooters is still busy which is surprising as it’s getting to the end of the season and things are slowing down elsewhere. We’ve started up a Live Music night every Wednesday which has been really popular. The guy that performs is from Perth - Scotland not Oz. He’s really good and gets the crowd going so we’ll probably have him back next season to do a weekly spot. Health wise I have been feeling under the weather; had a few bouts of sinusitis and pharyngitis which reappears every time I get to the end of the prescription. So, I decided to take myself off to see a healer!!! I heard about him through a friend and apparently he’s really good and really poplar. Not wanting ... read more

Can't believe its our last day in Goa today (we leave for Mumbai tomorrow). I've had the best time here, its completely flown by! On Friday we did the boat cruise which was really good but we didn't see any dolphins unfortunately. We went to a beach called Monkey Beach and had a bbq on the beach and also went snorkelling. I don't think I was very good at it and had a bit of a panic attack when I realised I was swimming back to the wrong boat and thought for a minute that our boat had left me! Then in the evening we went to this amazing restaurant called Fiesta's - it's like a set on James Bond! It was more expensive than we thought so only had desert but have booked a table ... read more
