There are tea stores on many streets in the city of Guangzhou. This store is on the same street as the spectacles market.

This tea store also sells some great tea cups at outstanding prices. Large cups for 2 RMB and small for 1 RMB.

If you need a map of the city or a good book this is the place to visit. Take metro line 1 or 3 to the Tiyuxi stop and depart via exit A. Open 9:30AM to 9:30PM. Top of the exit turn right and walk out entry of building. Turn left and walk against traffic for about 2 blocks, ( see purple AEON sign across the street). At intersection turn left again. Across the street see red brick building; this is your destination.

Take the stairs to your right under the street to get to the book store. After coming up stairs from crossing under the road, walk straight ahead. Enter store via archway. To find Guangzhou city maps; walk straight ahead, bearing slightly left until you see the "Travel and Photography" sign. Maps are on the left. This is the best map I have found for the city of Guangzhou. Its in Chinese and English. It only cost 15 RMB.

Guangzhou Onelink Plaza is one of the major places for shopping, especially wholesale shopping. Open 9am - 7pm. To get here travel on Metro line 6 to the Haizhu Square stop and take exit B2. After departing metro exit B2, walk in the direction of traffic about 100 yards and pass under the overpass. One Link is just across the road on the right.

The first floor underground to the 6th floor is the wholesale market and other floors are for commercial purpose. With a wide range of choices of different products, you can buy products such as toys, home decorations, arts and crafts, jewelry, sporting goods, keychains, collectables and gifts. One can buy a single item or in bulk.

If one needs any kind of materials for cloth or have clothing made for them; this is one of the place to visit. Open 9am to 6pm. To get here travel on Metro line 6 to the Donghu stop and take exit B2. After departing exit, walk in the direction of traffic, keeping elevated roadway to one's left. At 2nd intersection see the Pearl River straight ahead. Turn right onto Yanjiong Rd..Walk straight seeing address sigh on building to right (307-808), You have arrived.Walk to end of block to see more stores straight ahead and to right.

On the way to the Cloth, Fabric, String market you might also be interested in electronics.To get here travel on Metro line 6 to the Donghu stop and take exit B2. After departing metro exit B2, walk in the direction of traffic about 25 yards. Electronic and computer store will be on the right. One can find anything here that has electronics; from washing machines to razors, sound systems, cameras and phones.

When you are finished shopping for electronics or cloth relax in the nearby Dong Shan Hu Park. Open 9am to 9pm.

To get here travel on Metro line 6 to the Haizhu Square stop. If you have already visited the the cloth /string or electronic market enter the metro at the B2 exit and exit out the B1 exit. Upon exiting take a right walking in the direction of traffic about 25 yards. Entrance to park is on the right.

There are many walkways and benches one can relax on. Check out the remote control bumper boats.

Shangxiajiu Walking Street is one of the most popular commercial centers located in Guangzhou. The street is around 800 meters long and has 250 stores on each side of the street. It is the first ever commercial walking street in the city and was officially opened in 1995.

To get here travel on Metro line 6 to the Cultural Park Station stop and take exit D. After exiting, turn right in the direction of traffic and walk to the end of the street about two + blocks to where road makes a half circle turn. About half way there see this sign with walking street in brown. Once you see the statue of horse standing on top of world, you have arrived.

Inside the park is an ancient style complex consisting of city walls, a courtyard, houses, palaces and gardens. The park has all kinds of facilities for movies, Chinese folk art and a museum. The park is open 650am to 930pm. To get here travel on Metro line 6 to the Cultural Park Station stop and take exit D. After exiting, turn right in the direction of traffic and walk about 25 yards; just past bus stop the park entrance is on right. About 50 yards into the park on the right are Chinese and western style toilets.

The Guangzhou Thirteen Hong's Museum is inside the Guangzhou Culture Park. Just show your ID for a free entrance ticket. It has lots of great info on maritime trade between China and the United States / Europe during the 1600's, 1700's and 1800's.

The Yoasheng Clothing Wholesale Market is another exit D Metro line 6 Cultural Park Station stop. Walk past the entrance of the Guangzhou Culture Park about one block. Once you see a blue skeleton framed building on your right, take the next right.

Beijing Road Walking Street is located in the city center of Guangzhou, with a history of more than 1000 years. It is a start of the foundation of original Guangzhou and the most prosperous commercial center in history from past to present.

I hope that you are doing very well in Guangzhou and you have fully acclimated. Enjoy yourself there. Extremely hot in Lewis County this summer and very humid. We have had a "drought" and tornado this summer. The corn still grows. Take care. Derek
