Joshua Stahl Int395 Journal #3 Dear Journal, The day started off with a clear indication that our work was being followed up, as cold calls were clearly being made to America. Obi and I walked into the office, and heard one of the five main English speakers, Jack, in the middle of a phone call. The phone call began aggressively with; “Hello, I am a representative from a big Chinese shoe factory in China. Do you like Chinese shoes?” As soon as Jack hung up the phone, I immediately approached him with suggestions for improvement. Forgetting everything I learned about “face”, I asked him: “Jack, would you mind if I gave you a few suggestions?” And with a nod I continued, “Next time you are on a phone relax, and take a step back.
