As part of our recent Blyde River Canyon trip, we took the opportunity to venture into Kruger for two days. We made some progress on the Big Five, but sadly the leopards remained elusive. The lions made an appearance inside our first five minutes in the park, but unfortunately it was too dark for anything other than a black blob on the pictures. Four more Rhinos were also viewed to add to our Hluhluwe National Park collection, but only at a distance. The buffalo pictures were rubbish, so we are holding fire on their release pending an improvement. We are now in Pretoria, of which we can't pass much comment because we've arrived in the dark and we leave for a six day proper Kruger safari on Saturday.... read more

7/4/06 I am slightly jealous of everyone that gets to celebrate Independence Day. The last time that I was able to set off little fireworks and such was two years ago. Last year I was in the middle of Arizona and there were fire bans everywhere. This year I am in a country where the independence of the United Stated means nothing. But I do get to celebrate because it is Ntate’s (unedati’s, I finally figured out how the word it spelled but my spelling is how it is said) birthday. I want to say happy birthday to him and also a very happy birthday to my Aunt Daryl also. I really enjoy Independence Day, it is a great holiday. I think that I enjoy it so much because it is so beautiful outside and ... read more

My friends and I really had a great time down at the Durban Beach front. It was sort of a surprise for me and I was really taken. It was good to hang out with my Broe Bongs that day - His support and interest in what I do have been overwhelming..... read more

I arrived in Jo'Burg which apparently is the most dangerous city in South Africa, and you could easily see it was. Every home had 10 feet high fences with razor wire along the top and 2-3 guard dogs barking. I had one day there until I would meet Jas and Ryan in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. I spent the first part of the morning in Lion Park where I got to see many lion's of course along with other animals. The highlight of this trip was petting a white lion cub and driving through lion dens. I then went to Monte Casino, which looks like a giant castle from the outside, but the inside is desinged to appear like you are outside in an old aged town. The shops looked like old houses and the ceiling ... read more

I have been meaning to write for a few days now but today was the first time that I was able to take the time and do it. On Thursday we had a bible study in Clarens. Two people came, Meshach and Gloria, and they both prayed the sinners prayer for the first time. On Saturday we went back to give them some literature. They are in a difficult situation because there are not many believers in the area that can give them guidance and there are virtually no churches that have sound doctrine. Please pray that they prayed that prayer with their hearts and that they would ask questions and be able to understand the literature and the Bible. Meh and Unedati have known Meshach for a few years now and he has been coming ... read more

Hello everyone. So after surviving horrendously painful trapped wind which I had to endure on the flight and what seemed like a life time waiting around at Dubai airport I have made it to South Africa and it feels like I was meant to come here now. I actually started to feel like a local in Dubai because I was there for so long, I grew my beard, wore a white dressing gown whilst making a miserable looking suppressed female carry my bags 3 paces behind me. As you know I am not an experience traveler and I have seen people sleeping in the strangest positions possible in the airport lounge, and tourists taking pictures of luggage trolley’s and the like or old middle aged white men with young Malaysian women. I bought some new socks ... read more

6/28/06 Yesterday we went to Bethlehem like we do every Tuesday but this week was particularly busy. We had a lot of things that we needed to pick up, we wanted to drop off the new mailers at all of the interested businesses, and we were taking Shalom and Cornelius out as a reward for all that they do for Meh and Unedati, particularly the folding of the 2800 mailers that we will disperse this month. We went to the lion park where they had 13 lions, 2 lynx, 2 other cat like things with spots, and a Bengal Tiger. Inside they had little white tigers that you could pick up and pet. They make a sound that is rather uninviting but they are cuddly cute. On the way to the farm (down this bumpy dirt ... read more

Hallo zusammen! Vorallem da ich ja ... read more
