Hoi allemaal, Hier weer even een update vanuit Socceroo-land!

Update from Zoe The All Blacks game was brilliant (even though Ireland lost), the public transport here is really good and they laid shuttles on to Eden Park, which is out of the city centre. It was absolutely peeing it down and we were in the uncovered part, so we blagged a bin liner from the bar and both sat in it - it all added to the experience! The next day we had a mooch about Auckland, which is nice our hostel is right in the centre so it makes getting around really easy. Just before dusk we went up the sky tower, it was a great time to go, as we go to enjoy the amazing views in the daytime and night (although not so sure dan was enjoying the views at the very ... read more

Oh my god I'm in THE most annoying internet cafe! Everytime I come in here he either decides to either close for lunch, or tells me that none of the computers are working! Its really really annoying! My problem is however, that its cheap, about half the price of everywhere else, bugger!! Hmm now where to pick up again, oh yes last Sunday, we didn't go to the comedy thing as we stayed at Ketrina and Ray's house. I went and met them at the end of the race, although Ray didn't run becuase he wasn't very well! Ketrin and Karmayne did really well. They came in the top 20 of their category and about half out of the whole thing, which was amazing. Also, Karmayne has never competed before so that was even more of an ... read more

First day writing on a travel blog! Am hoping this will be easier that sending out group emails...and less annoying for people who don't like recieving them but still want to check what I am doing every now and again! Am still in Darwin but have decided the quickest way to get to Cairns is just to fly. Tried to find a car share but left it all a bit late and really want to meet up with Katie who have just spoken to! She slept most of the flight over and is now sitting by the pool with Clare and Roisin (but apparenty it is a bit cold to swim at the moment!). Have found a flight for $330 so just got to wait for Pat to get back from Kakadu and then we can ... read more

The drive from Katherine to Kununurra takes you along 530km of Victoria Highway. Otherwise known as the forgotten highway. If they don’t start repairing it soon it will totally fall apart. Without warning you are faced with a road full of pot holes, some a foot deep. It was a boring drive, made even more annoying by my CD player refusing to play anything. I also caught up with a vehicle that was spraying tar onto the Road. Before I realised what he was doing to front of the car was covered in tar. This took ages of hard scrubbing to get most of it off. All the other state borders that I have crossed have signs saying don't take fruit, veg etc over the border. But in Western Australia you have to stop at a ... read more

The Pinnacles Desert after a very bad nights sleep is the perfect introduction to the climate of Australia to come as you go up the west coast in Winter. Nice and warm, a gorgeous mustard yellow soil with falic looking objects protruding from the depths! Their formation is facinating (for a geographer!). We Jammed on all breaks of the bus to let a very slow moving echidna cross the road, all got out made cooing sounds and took photos, i just wouldn't want to sit on one. Additional to the Hangover cure we went to Hungover bay which was just gorgeous, crystal clear blue waters a white white sand which was just breathtaking!! Also stopped off in Geraldton, most probably to use the supermarket and the loo, and pick up/drop off numerous passengers. As for the ... read more

This one is called Cock in a Frock Part II because Part 1 got so many hits just because of the title. Yes, there is a text blog for this one but I haven't gotten around to typing it up. I thought I would publish the photos anyway because isn't that what everyone wants anyway?... read more

I'm currently about 35,000feet above Alice Springs, heading North with nearly three hours to go before I reach Denpasar, Bali. Still rather terrified about customs and the nightmare stories I've heard, but I guess you only ever hear the bad bits hey? If this is the last diary entry I write before being set-up as a drugs mule, or VISA-violating criminal, then let me just tell you that the smell of freedom is good, well, it would be, were I not sat in an air conditioned tin can with another 300 or so people, all breathing, farting and BO-ing the same 'fresh' air. Joy. Wish me luck in customs, and if it's not forthcoming...goodbye cruel world.... read more
