This facility is hard to beat. There is even a veterinarian service on base, with prices that can't be beat, including pet chipping. For one of the most complete and informative ways to see San Antonio we suggest you start by parking in the gated self-parking lot ($6.00) at the base of The Tower of the Americas. You can then begin your tour by riding the elevator to the top of the tower for a breathtaking view of the entire San Antonio area. There is also a special 4-D theater there in The Tower and a restaurant. Next, via a short walk through the grounds of the Convention Center and you'll be on the River Walk. A short walk there will take you to the Rivercenter Mall where you can listen to outdoor entertainment, have ... read more

Our last day in Las Vegas we spent going to a couple of Casinos, just for something different. Robert learned a bit more about how to play Blackjack ... the dealers are very helpful and patient. He came out in front at the end so it was a success as far as he was concerned. Sorry to bore you guys with more pictures but the buildings and their interiors are just so amazing. I did manage to find some more champagne on our revisit to Paris... Robert rode the roller coaster around New York New York ...it was so cold that night but he enjoyed it all the same!!! In The Bellagio the Christmas decor was just unbelievable as you can see below........ read more

So in a little while, the fam and I are heading out to LAX to catch our flight to Miami. Very few things in life excite me to the extent that traveling does. This should be a great trip with a little bit of everything: some relaxation, some quality time with the family, and some balls to the walls partying :) This will be my second time there, so I have a little knowledge of the city layout, the bomb restaurants, and the crackin' clubs. Plus, it helps I have friends & family there to update me and act as my wingmen ;) haha. I'll try to post updates, but in case I don't, I wanna wish all of you a safe and happy holiday season...... This is the longest post I have ever written simply because I have seen so much of New York on my first day here! My uncle and cousins enthusiastically showed me around although I know they have been to and they have seen these places many, many times before. Thank you so, so much! Despite its length, I hope you enjoy reading this because I wish to share with you my wonderful visit to the Big Apple! Landing in a NY Suburb Two hours in a public train from my apartment to the airport; one hour's flight from Chicago to Baltimore; another hour's flight from Baltimore to New York; and yet another hour of delay in between... I finally landed in a small airport in Long Island. Ofcourse, there are far better alternatives to getting ... read more

Well…I haven’t gotten a lot of sleep in the last few days. It is now Sunday night. The movers came on Friday after much back and forth. First they weren’t going to be able to make it, then they called and said they were on their way!!! Needless to say, I was in panic mode…But now it’s all done. I just have to wait, and hope all my stuff gets to Seattle in one piece!!! Last Friday, on the 14th, I had a going away party at Mom’s house. It was a great turn-out, and it was nice to see everyone. Robyn, Michelle, Harold, and I stayed up until 4am, just chatting away:) The rest of the weekend, I spent frantically trying to pack things up. I did get some help, which was greatly appreciated. You ... read more

Jono and I planned a while back to go to Portland to have (a white) Christmas and New years with my old uni pal, Jane, her husband Paul and their two kids - Attikus and Aislinn. We were planning to drive, but our car broke down at the start of December, so we bought ourselves bus and train tickets. We decided it would be nice to break the journey in Seattle, spending an afternoon and a night checking out the City a little more and then catching the train onwards the next day to Portland. It turned out to be fortuitous that we arranged it this way, even though it didn’t go to plan, ‘cause at least we did not miss our connecting train… We got to the Greyhound bus depot in Vancouver at about 7:45am, ... read more

Well, here we are; made it through four states today. The drive was great until we hit Wisconsin and then came the ICE!! It was crazy !!!! We saw THREE overturned cars and multiple spinouts. And boy is it cold.....We drove about 8.5 hours so we are right on track. We finaly got something to eat and then went for a swim. It felt good to move around after being in the tightly packed car all day. Now we took showers and are checking email and downloading pictures before our next drive tommorrow. We hope to make it to the Badlands by this time tomm. Hopefully the weather will cooperate !!!!! Bis dann....... I will be home tomorrow on Christmas eve which finally ends my road trip back to the east coast. I couldn't end the trip without driving past the Great Smoky Mountains, and of course, make a day visit to Dollywood. I heart Dolly Parton. When ever she speaks she warms my heart. Something about her voice and her laughing squeal makes me giddy. I only rode two of the rides because many of the roller coasters go into loops and I am terrified of upside down roller coasters. A fear that I just didn't fell like confronting today. The weather dropped to below 20 by nightfall, but we stuck around until close to enjoy the Christmas music and lights. Unfortunately Dolly was not in the park. Jason purchased a banjo though. I plan to learn along ... read more
