The first four days we spent at a place called Red Mountain. We skied there Saturday (2/2) and Sunday. The first day we didn't take any pictures, because it was snowing pretty hard and was quite cold. The first pictures are from Sunday. On Monday, we drove to Whitewater Mountain about 1 1/2 hours away. That was a smaller mountain, but they had a really cool logo. I'm still mad I didn't buy a sticker with the fun logo on it. So, I have finally gotten my stuff. One full week AFTER the last date of the window that was given to me. Why, you say????? That is a good question. I was never given an answer...much less a discount on the price. I have to "file a claim" for that!!!! What is that all about?????? I am trying to unpack everything, but it's a slow process. I made it back home, but barely..........The day started out great, weather in Seattle was perfect, with no call for any bad weather. I knew the weather in Chicago would be bad and worsening, but I figured it wouldn't cause too many problems, cause I was scheduled to arrive at 2:30 and leave at 4:10. When I checked on the computer before we left for the airport, all was ok. what I didn't realize was that there was FOG. I guess it was horrendous in Chicago and causing all kinds of delays. Here are some pictures from the past week. So...my stuff still isn't here. They only have until the 8th in the "window". I went skiing today, and on New Year's Day!!! Fun times. Hopefully I will get better at it now, since I'll have more opportunities to go skiing. Today's skiing was really good. Fresh powder all over the place. I started work on Thursday. Well, we went to IKEA yesterday (Saturday). Beforehand, we got my tire fixed. There was a nail in it, and they were unable to repair it. He said it looked shredded inside because we had to drive on it. But at least the rim wasn't damaged. The warranty on the tire was good for 12,000 miles or 12 months. I bought them on 12/29/06. And the mileage on my car was just over 12,000 miles!!!! So, it actually happened just before it hit 12,000 miles, and it happened on 12/27/07. This is my last day in Seattle. So far it hasn't rained. We got up this morning at 7:30 and went for a nice long walk after breakfast. We saw the Space Needle and the Seattle skyline from the waterfront a block away. Wow, I just saw some SUN......Oops, gone again LOL It was nice to get some fresh air and walk around outside. We are now showering and going back out shopping. I don't know if we'll get a chance to look around again in downtown Seattle. Wow, sun back again.......might have to actually close the blinds. Everything so far is going well; cable guy has come and gone. We have TV and internet!! Last night was nice; watching movies and drinking beers. It is now 11:30 and we are getting ready to go to IKEA and BBB to get some stuff. We might make it to downtown Seattle today, but if not for sure tommorrow. We also have to get the car checked out.
