I'm the true definition of a hustler hehe. I'm motivated, ambitious, and the sky is the limit with the potential I possess. I absolutely LOVE traveling and getting to know distant people, lands, and cultures. I am somewhat new to the traveling abroad lifestyle although I've been all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Europe. I spent 2 months in Europe visiting 14 cities. However, I do know I have definitely acquired the travel bug.
I love sports (especially hockey). I love poker. I'm a music addict ( I'm a dj as well) and my family and friends mean the world to me. Hope you guys enjoy reading my blogs :)
Last time you guys heard from me, we had just gotten back to the hostel from pounding drinks at the pub crawl. Today, well, today was the day our awesome journey ends =/ No more authentic japanese sushi, no more extensive metro system, no more sumo, and no more worry free days not having to go to work.... (for a while at least). Our flight departed from Tokyo at 5:30pm. To be on the safe side, we left the hostel at noon. It's always better to get to the airport early..... especially when you're on standby. We hung around the hostel until noon, checked out, and headed to the airport. After getting some much needed sustenance and some last minute gifts, we headed to gate 37. We were on "standby" so it wasn't guaranteed we had

Going to a baseball game and going on that pub crawl in Roppongi (one of the main party areas in Tokyo). Unfortunately, the only baseball game started at 6pm and the pub crawl started at 7pm. I remember some of my fondest memories of Europe were pub crawls, so I decided to go to the pub crawl instead. First, however, Katie and I had to kill about 8 hours or so. We started off the day sleeping in (the only day we've been able to do that). We then headed out to the Edo Tokyo museum. I had read that it was

I knew it would be like this, so I planned an early in the morning even, then after that, a day of relaxation. The day started at 4am for us. We got up, got ready, and headed to the Tsukiji Fish Market. Every travel guide I read, said this place was not to be missed. And to see all the action, we had to get there early. Now, seeing tuna auctions and all that is fine and dandy, but I was there to try some sushi. Fresh sushi, the kind that feels like it was in the water 10

We woke up, got ready, grabbed a quick bite, and headed to Tokyo. Plans don't always go through thanks to horrible weather. Up to this point, Katie and I had been extremely lucky when it came to weather. It basically started pouring as soon as we got to the train station. We checked back into our hostel and went on a wild goose chase in the rain for bank or post office to exchange dollars for yen. We were pretty low on our yen reserves. Unfortunately, it was a holiday in Japan so all the banks and post offices were closed =/ We could've

While researching what to do today, I found out about the Raku Bus. It’s a city bus line sytem that not only stops at places all over the city, but stops at the main attractions, as well. SCORE! Kyoto’s subway system isn’t very good; there’s only 2 subway lines that forms a cross with one side swooping down kind of like an “h” shape. This is where things started going REALLY well. As Katie and I walked up to purchase our tickets for the bus, we noticed the machine was beeping. Katie looked and said, “What’s this?”. A moment

Anyone that knows me, knows I do not require much sleep......... especially while traveling. However, I can't lie, the last couple of nights have kicked my ass in the sense that I haven't been able to get accustomed to the time change. No wonder I wake up at 4am. Anyways, I digress........ Today, the plan was for Katie and I to head to Kyoto. We woke up at 4am, but couldn't check out until 8am, so we walked around for a bit. Well, we could've checked out before 8am, but didn't feel comfortable not having proof that we checked out (reception opens at 8am). While

Last time I left off with all of you, it was about 10pm and I was considering calling it an early night and checking out the Tsukiji Fish Market in the morning. However, after I finished the last blog, I went down to the front counter and was informed that the Market was closed today........bummer. I then continued to talk to some of the fellow travelers in the hostel, then messed around on the computer until about 1am local time. The short exchange you just read between Katie and I occurred at about 4am. That's right, 4am. That puts my sleep counter at about 3 hours. Either way, I was wide awake and had tons

The ground felt like it was rocking back and forth. However, after getting a good night's rest, we felt refreshed and ready to take on Tokyo. We got ready, checked out, and headed to our next hostel. (The main hostel we're staying at the rest of the nights in Tokyo was booked up for our first night). A funny thing happened that complicated things. Well, at least I can laugh about it now. I told the girl at the front desk that we were looking for Quality K's Oasis Hostel. After being assured she knew where it was, she gave me some directions. Normally, I have directions and maps printed

So many times these past few months, while stuck doing overtime at work or sacrificing going out on a weekend, I kept telling myself "It'll all be worth it when you're in Japan." After we decided to go for it, I began to voraciously read travel guides, blogs, web sites, and anything I could get my hands on that would give me information on Japan and things to see/do. And today........ today was the day we'd depart to The land of the rising sun. *RING*.......*RING*...... *RING*........ as the alarm clock rang out, my first thought was "please, just 5 more min.", however,

Do I just hang out during the day and ensure I catch my train to Amsterdam, or do I risk missing the last train at 3:56 and head on a tour of Dachau? Since I really wanted to see a concentration camp, I decided to risk missing the train. At approximately 10:15am I showed up at the Hoptbanhof by the tourist information office to meet up with the Dachau Tour guides. I stopped by to get a quick bite beforehand and was ready to go. The group grabbed a train and in about 10 minutes or so, were in Dachau. From there we took a bus and in another 10 minutes or so, we were at the front of the Dachau concentration camp. Our tour guide, Gordon from
