Hi! We haven't been writing for some time, but we're okay! Our last weeks were filled with driving around Australia with our campervan (again) and see what's there in "The Sunshine State" Queensland. Everyone promised us great weather, because it's the dry season! Unfortunately no one told the weathergod and so we had loads of rain and not too much sunshine! We drove South till Airlie beach, where we did a sailing trip on which I got horrible seasick, but it still was nice! We sailed in small group of 6 people and a small sailing boat, the Domino to the island Bali Hai where we snorkelled in the rain and had a delicious lunch on the island! Thomas also saw a turtle! On the way back the sea got rough and I didn't enjoy ... read more

Just as I had anticipated, my 24 hours in New York were rather rushed and chaotic. I arrived Penn Station at around 9:45 pm and took the subway to Union Square. Nico's Book Release Party was at Spincycle at 35 E 13th St. So, I walked up to the door with luggage in tow and the doorman/host asks "Are you one of the Go-Go Dancers?". No... I felt a mixture of insulted and flattered. I hauled my bags up the stairs only to find there was no where to leave them, but then the shining light that was the coat check opened. It seemed almost instantaneous that fans of Nico's book were approaching him to get it signed. I felt like a proud parent! Then the magic that was the all-Kylie Minogue Dancefloor began. I ... read more

We split into two groups today. The guys got up early and headed back to the Rockefeller Centre to see the Today Show being filmed and tour the NBC studios. The studio tour took them through the sets of ‘Saturday Night Live’ and the ‘Conan O’Brien’ shows. After that, they headed to the Silver Screen and saw ‘Next’ at the movies. Then it was a New York Gastronomic experience - stuffing as many hot-dogs into them as they walked to Times Square! The girls (Lauren, Ellen and Andrea) got up at a more respectable hour (11am!) and went shopping! GAP munched up most of Lauren’s money… Then it was off to Central Park for a laze on the grass. We had planned to do a walking tour of the park but laziness took hold and ... read more

I arrived in NY on Monday 14th May extremely late at night, but was very excited to see Natalie. Her apartment is very New York and very Natalie. It is big and central to everything downtown. New York is a very live city. Truly one of the big cities of the world. In my first week I have done so much walking that I feel like my legs may fall off. My back is ready to pack it in, and the jerky cab rides are not helping the situation. The cabs in this city are a nightmare. I will be glad when I am back in Sydney and do not have to take another cab for quite a while. Natalie writes me notes in the morning and tells me where to meet her with directions ... read more

Hello Big Apple! After a big American breakfast we set out to explore the city. First stop - the Rockefeller Centre, home of the NBC studios and the film set for the Today show. We then walked up to the Empire State Building and spent about 40 minutes up the top looking at the amazing New York skyline. Had a big New York slice of pizza for lunch before catching the subway to the former World Trade Centre site. Seeing the photo memorial and reading over the events of that day was pretty full-on. Even though it was six years ago now, seeing that big hole in the ground brought the day back afresh. We wandered down to Battery Park - the place where the first immigrants to New York landed so many years ago. ... read more

On my trip to London & Germany, I went on and on about how good the food was. The food in New York was not spectacular, just ok. Anyway- on with the trip. We had most of the afternoon off to spend doing whatever. We took the subway downtown so we could catch the ferry to Ellis Island. Another water trip- it's a theme of all my trips. The photo of the group (Victor, Brad, Scott, me, Dave and Jay) is from when we were on the ferry over to the island. While on the ferry, we stopped briefly at the Statue of Liberty. We didn't get off there because there were no more tickets available to go inside the statue, so we went over to Ellis Island. It's a museum now with some very ... read more
