Just went to Boston for the first time this past March (2007). Thought I would share some of the sights. I found it interesting how the historical downtown was integrated with the new high rise buildings. Not exactly how I had it pictured in my mind's eye. I enjoyed running through some of the Back Bay neighborhoods but wasn't as crazy about going along the Charles river. Harvard is worth a walk through and Little Italy is a good place to check out too.... read more

Dear Blog Readers who must wait, Blame no connection or blame the writer, but I have missed a few days. From Freeport, MI Where we weathered our 2nd BIG storm...torrents of rain, wind, and curl up with a good book weather (no fireplace). Next day...bright and sunny! Our weather has really been incredibly delightful for autumn in New England. Found a cute sounding place in New Hampshire, Henniker so we stayed there, walked to church and tried to use our cell phone. The big event that night was a preHalloween Scary Hay ride. Members of a snowmobile club get together, camp, and REALLY decorate their campsites with special effects. Then, kids & adults from the area come to get scared. It was really creepy and dark. It reminded us of Karol Hall's party. Onto Massachusetts. Thank ... read more

Hi family and friends! Today is Oct. 18, 2007. Patty and I are in an awesome RV resort (check it out Beckie & Gary: www.normandyfarms.com ) near Boston. We left FL on Sept. 30 and blasted up thru WV and eastern PA then headed east into CT. from there went up into the white mtns. of Northern New Hampshire for 3 days. That was a nice area where we did some hiking and leaf peeping. Then we headed Northeast into Maine where we stayed for a week at Acadia National Park. Acadia is an awesome park and it was neat to have a week to check it out. The weather has been surprisingly mild and sunny for the most part. And of course we had plenty of Lobs-tah and Chow-dah! We also met up with old ... read more

It was a long flight but an absolutely beautiful landing over the fall colors and quaint houses of New Hampshire. Took a relatively short bus ride into Boston and found our room at Hotel@MIT in Cambridge! Thank the universe they were able to get us a room early because we were exhausted after our travels. This is definitely one of the coolest places I've stayed. Perfect bed, funky, modern room, nice view, and a Star Market connected to the hotel without even having to leave the building. We picked up some egg salad finger sandwiches for lunch, bananas, those new Oreo snack cakes (awesome) and a bunch of little waters to carry around with us. This is a great hotel but somehow I feel like I m not even in Boston. It's too new and too ... read more

Another laid back city, a very wealthy city, but not so that you'd notice - outward reflections of wealth are frowned upon in Boston apparently - a very specific Bostonian cultural oddity.... There is a lot of history associated with this city re: the birth of ‘America’ - the original patriots originated from this area. So it was very interesting walking around the city. I liked boston quite a bit, all things considered (definitely the coldest and wettest stop on our trip - but it was also the furthest north that we travelled) We also managed to pop up to Harvard for a morning. Saz now feels very smart as the owner of a Harvard sweater. The campus, loosely defined, is less the traditional self contained university campus and more akin to a small town, a ... read more

October 4 - 6, 2007 This was my first time ever going to the New England area and I absolutely adored it. I flew into Logan International at 5pm on the 4th of October. Landing I could see hundreds - probably thousands - of sailboats and all of these old 3 or 4-story homes that you see on TV and look haunted. It was exactly how I pictured New England looking. I stayed at the Hyatt Harborside Hotel which is across the harbor from downtown Boston. The view from my room was amazing! I went downstairs and had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the view from my seat was the sun setting over Boston. As the lights came on I grabbed my camera and took some pictures of the city all lit up. Breathtaking! I ... read more

Hey everyone, sorry we havent updated in a while. A bit slack, and we couldnt find the internet anywhere. Well, its everywhere, but its all WiFi. Well, we've finished with Chicago. Its an ok city, kinda boring and really not set up for tourists which was really noticable for us having been all over the place. Plus we took a tour when the Bears were playing on Sunday arvo. Which basically shuts down half the city. I cracked my head on a trolley bus and broke my glasses again, so I threw a shitty. Which was fun for all. Especially Abbey. Then we moved on to Niagara Falls. Now, we got a hotel that was in Niagara falls, but apparently that doesnt mean it has to be anywhere close to Niagara Falls. It felt like we ... read more
