Hi Everyone, we’ve emerged from the woods of Northwestern Wyoming! We’re in Cody, WY today after spending about three weeks split between the Tetons and Yellowstone. We went to several campgrounds we haven’t been to before. For the most part the weather was great 70’s during the day 40’s at night but the winter is coming soon up here…it was 23 the morning we left Grant campground. We did a lot of kayaking in the Tetons….without a doubt the most scenic kayaking we’ve ever done. Saw lots of moose up close from the water. In Yellowstone both the b [View Full Entry]

Hey now....We’ve been cruising around southern Utah for the last several weeks having a great time. The weather has been decent, a little warmer than average. But first, you may have noticed Patty has got the Jamie Lee Curtis hair thing going on. She said before the trip that she wanted to go “natural”, stop coloring her hair so she cut it all off…says it’s a lot easier to take care of… I kind of like it. Anyway, after Arches, we drove a couple of hours over to Capital Reef NP and stayed 5 days. A much less visited park…we had [View Full Entry]

Hi there! We’re on the road again. We hitched up the camper and left on april 13th heading west on a southerly route through Baton Rouge, Houston (at 6:00 am), San Antonio and then west on US 90 to Del Rio on the Rio Grande and then on up to Big Bend Nat’l Park where we stayed 4 days. Big Bend is unique, remote and big! Not for everybody but we liked it. There are roadrunners and javelinas there. Then we went due north for about 300 miles to Carlbad, NM. The caves were amazing, just like we’ve heard. Then it [View Full Entry]

Hi family and friends! Today is Oct. 18, 2007. Patty and I are in an awesome RV resort (check it out Beckie & Gary: www.normandyfarms.com ) near Boston. We left FL on Sept. 30 and blasted up thru WV and eastern PA then headed east into CT. from there went up into the white mtns. of Northern New Hampshire for 3 days. That was a nice area where we did some hiking and leaf peeping. Then we headed Northeast into Maine where we stayed for a week at Acadia National Park. Acadia is an awesome park and it was neat to [View Full Entry]

June 16, 2007 - We’re at Olympic National park in NW Washington for four nights…it’s really remote and beautiful here. More about Washington in a minute but first some random thoughts and observations about Oregon: Oregon is great, the scenery is fantastic. We spent a couple of weeks among 4 coastal state parks and one inland park and enjoyed them all. Oregon is very liberal and ecology minded; the entire coast is public land, there are no private beaches, there’s no sales tax; they don’t put any fluoride in the water, at the campgrounds the trash dumps have bin [View Full Entry]

June 1, 2007 ….we’ve been in the southern Oregon coast for the last couple of days. The state park system here is fantastic. Oregon is our primary destination; we’re going to be here about 2 weeks. It’s definitely a lot cooler. It pretty much stays in the mid 50’s and is kind of foggy most of the time. They make some great clam chowder here… it actually seems like we’re in New England. We have to remind ourselves that this is the Pacific Ocean. Will add more to this as the week goes on.. June 4, 2007 - We’re at [View Full Entry]

Hi Everyone, We’ve had a really fun time the last 2 days in Napa Valley. We’ve got free internet today on the Verizon phone so we decided to take advantage and send a short update. Boy, the trip over from Yosemite to Napa was NOT fun! We got to within about 30 miles or so from Oakland and San Francisco and the traffic was horrific! It took us an hour to go 5 miles and across the Sears Point toll bridge over San Francisco Bay in 10 lanes of traffic moving at a crawl. I’ll find a better route next [View Full Entry]

We’ve spent the last week or so between Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Parks and Yosemite NP in the high Sierra in California. Today is May 23rd , this is our 4th day at Yosemite. The weather has been perfect…sunny blue skies, 70’s during the day and 40’s at night. Well it did get to 34 last at night at our campsite but it’s right by the river and a little cooler…. by 9 am it was already up to 64 degrees! We really liked Kings Canyon… we practically had it to ourselves and probably our favorite campsite so far. Yosemite is [View Full Entry]
