It's been a while since my last blog ... so here we go again! :-) My travel partner and I have finally set a rough itinerary for our trip this summer. I'm excited to see where we end up ... here's our rough one: June 8-16: London, Cantebury?, Brighton? June 18: wedding, Cinque Terre, Italy Late June: Rome, Florence and Venice - Siena? Assisi? Salzburg, Austria - maybe Munich, Germany July: Vienna, Austria Budapest, Hungary Prague, Czech Republic Berlin, Germany Barcelona (vacation w/in vacation?) Copenhagen, Denmark August: London, England Scotland/Ireland I'm so pumped. It's only a month before I leave ... and, boy, do I have a lot of things to do! It's nuts. But, I'm looking forward to the adventure ahead. I'm sure it will bring joy, disappointment, wond... read more

Without any doubt, Boston is a young-feeling and sophisticated city, judging by its nature of being the home of world’s many prestigious colleges and universities: Harvard, MIT and Boston College to name a few. I’m back in Boston again to continue on with our landscape studio’s project site observation of the Parcel 18 Big Dig. Arrived in Boston Chinatown with a four-hour bus ride from NYC Chinatown, I weaved my way through familiar streetscape of Boston to meet up with Adam at the Central Fraternity Office in Lewis Wharf. After depositing my bags at the CFO, I took off for a couple of hours to do the site observation. Part of our studio group’s interest lies within the Boston historical landmark of Custom House, which sits next to the distinctive Grain Exchange Building, used to mark ... read more

An exciting development in my trip plans is the addition of a travel partner. One of my good friends, Chris, is going to join me for a large part of my travels in Europe. Yeah! It should be really fun. :-) On Friday, he and I visited a local travel/map store to get a better idea of what we'd like to do. We pulled a large rail map from the Europe travel section and laid it out in front of us. As I stood there running my fingers from country to country, I couldn't believe that I will be there in a little over 2 months. The more we chatted, the more excited we became about the prospect of traveling through Central Europe. Some of the cities we're contemplating a visit to are Prague, Berlin, Budapest, ... read more

My ticket to Europe is bought and paid for ... I can't believe it! It's rather surreal and exhilarating at the same time. Now, I have to amass the necessary funds to sustain myself for 2.5 months. Wish me luck! ... read more

Wednesday, February 4, 2004 - Boston, Massachusetts After a layover in Chicago O’Hare from Des Moines, Iowa airport, we finally set a foot in Boston’s Logan Airport. Several people from the studio decided to approach Downtown in style by the classic Boston Harbor ferry, but we decided to ride a quicker way of Boston’s famous and efficient subway system, the ‘T’. The Red Line brought us to City of Cambridge, north of downtown Boston, and we checked into our room at the Radisson Cambridge, several blocks away from the main M.I.T. campus. We will be in Boston for four days, as part of our senior architecture studio field trip. The objective of our trip is to observe the controversial Big Dig project, or the Central Artery/Tunnel Project, which crowns the honor of being the costliest single ... read more

Part of our East Coast trip was our stop in Boston. This provided to be the most amazing game of our trip. We were in the right feild bleachers of a Yankees vs. Red Sox game. It was the Wednesday night game of the week and the matchup was Mike Musina vs. Pedro Martinez. Not only was the atmosphere second to none (and trust me I have seen a late season Packers v Bears when both teams were playing well) but Brock and I got to do something that is a wall hanger of our fan carrers. Every game we walked behind the home plate bleachers just for the view. Well, odly enough this game the security was not that tight and we realized we had the window of a lifetime. We were able sneak down ... read more

Geo: 42.984, -70.7513I Got a Morrison Visa (US green card) which I had to validate but then never used it as C. didn't get one. So stayed with a friend (Ms. LMcG) in Needham with her family, very nice people. L's dad took me to Museum of Fine Arts at 465 Huntington Ave (Back Bay) which was good, had everything from Modern Amercian like Hopper to Impressionists like Degas & Gauguin & has some magnificent asian & ancient Egyptian stuff & when I asked him didn't he think it should be in Egypt in a museum he said he had never thought about it before but that I was probably right. Myself & L spent a good bit time driving - past Harvard/Cambridge & all over. And we also went to Salem which was very interesting ... read more
