And summer has officially begun. With a most welcome vacation. The past three weeks have been incredibly dull, being basically filled with a desperate search to find a full-time job (or at least a few part-time positions - either way, money is money right now). Every year my father and I go to my Grandmother's family reunion in the Georgian countryside on Father's Day weekend. It's been held the same set of three days for the past forty years now. The crowd has thinned in the years as I've grown up but it is still an event I enjoy immensely. I like being able to see how the area around Towns, McRae, and Hazelhurst continue to change through the years. Stores and restaurants that were once alive and thriving when I was a child have long ... read more

I am really starting to become anxious. Not a negative nervous but an excited nervous. I am almost all packed with the exception of a few items. I still don't know if I will be driving my convertible or if I will be borrowing my mother's van. I will leave on Friday and stop in Saint Louis for the evening. On Saturday I'll travel to Sioux City and on Sunday I'll overnight at Rapid City. I'll spend Monday night at Gardiner, Montana and check into the park on Tuesday. After check in I'll have 10 days of training on the DOS check-in system. From what I understand, I'll spend those 10 days in some sort of cabin set up with community bath houses separate from the building. I'm not nervous about the driving but I am ... read more

This is my first visit to the wonderful atlanta city This is a part of my travel in United States. I travelled with a group of eleven guys from Argentina. I remember that we were very excited to be in Atlanta city. The first day was amazing, first of all I visited CNN headquarters which is a huge building with all kind of services and shops that you can image. I spent there almost 3 hours and I didnĀ“t want to leave that place. Unfortunately I took few pictures because my camera had low battery (I wanted to kill myself :S). I want to share some of my pictures with everyone. Thanks for visit my blog ;-) and do not hesitate to contact me.... read more

Apologies for a later blog post, but when you're traveling around, not a whole lot of time to sit down and write! Long story short, for the past month, I've been somewhere different every weekend. Hence, minimal blogging. Anyways, I'm back for a bit and have a few posts up my sleeve. Other than an offsite out near Dulles International Airport, I haven't traveled for work since I started in August of last year. Back in March, I decided to sign up for a training course down in Atlanta at my company's headquarters. I was actually kind of excited to go, since I've never set foot in Georgia before. Additionally, I wouldn't have to pay for my flight or hotel out of pocket! I did, however, book personal vacation tickets from Atlanta to Orlando for a ... read more

Let's see where to begin.......... Day 1 consisted of trying to get out of Georgia. We finished loading the motor home around 12:00 and finally pulled out of the driveway around 12:30. We headed to Hampton to pick up a portable internet thingy from Anthony so we would be able to get service all over the US. (Thanks Anthony !) We made it to Anthony and Sheryl's house and I realized that I forgot to buy a broom, so Sheryl. being the angel she is, went inside and brought me her broom to take with me. (Thanks Sheryl ! ) All the while Anthony and Tim are realizing that the little internet thingy isn't working on our laptop so about 20 minutes into it, Chrissy, being the little angel she is, went inside and brought us ... read more

Well, things started off bad and only got worse. The shortest route from the campsite to Rose Creek Mine turned out not to be the fastest route. We ended going up and down every hill and mountain in the Smokey Mountains to get to the mine. On top of that, they were also having a biker rally and the roads were filled with fast driving, crazy passing, and obscene gesture-giving bikers. Not all was bad though. All the Harley riders seemed to be behaving themselves. Just after we got down the mountain, the motor home seemed to be going a little slower than it should be going. Turns out the brakes were overheating and were locking up. After we pulled over for a while, let the smoke clear, everything was back to normal. Once we got ... read more

This is my test entry before we go. Melissa and I leave in 5 days for Dublin. We plan to meet up with Emily and her family and head off on our own to the Abraham House Hostel in the Temple Bar area I think. We leave June 3rd around 8 and arrive in Dublin around 9:45 June 4th. I couldn't be more excited... now if I could just have everything packed and ready. I wanted to make a mix to get excited for the trip by adding music that is influenced by each country we will travel. Greetings from Atlanta The home of the Braves, Martin Luther King, CNN, the 1996 olympics and most important the world of Coca Cola. So my last few days have not really been that interesting I had a journey from Richmond to hear which took 19 hours in total but with a 5 hour wait in Greensboro North Carolina which is a weird place. I walked around got some food and got propositioned. Now dont get excited it was a proposition for the lord to save me. I declined. On the train to atlanta i sat next to a woman who was fast asleep but kept wanting to try to sit on me as well. My tattoo was sore and starting to itch. The guy behind me was either talking really loud, or breathing funny like his ... read more

Well here I am in Savannah, Georgia.....a place full of charm. It's a beautiful city made up of tree lined streets and shady squares. You can almost imagine the ladies of many years ago having picnics and entertaining their southern gentleman. As you walk through the historical district the smell of jasmine and honeysuckle lingers through the air. People here speak with a southern drawl which is pleasing to listen to. By noon the sun beats down and most people seek refuge in one of the 21 dappled squares. This place has been the setting for a number of famous films over the years, 'Glory', 'Forces of Nature', 'Forrest Gump' and 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil '- more commonly referred to as 'The Book'. This re-tells the true story of a respectable and ... read more
