Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhh...........my bottom was hurting this morning when I woke up !! I'm thinking there just wasn't enough cushion on that saddle yesterday. Thank goodness the pain got a little better as the day went on. We were in Scottsbluff, Nebraska at the local Wal-Mart when we got up but we wouldn't be there long. It was an early morning for us and we were up and at it at the crack of dawn. Not only was I hurting from the horseback ride yesterday but I was also still feeling a little anxious about the rattlesnake incident. I just couldn't get that rattling sound out of my head or the vision of the rattler itself rattling. Hopefully, in time, I will be able to put it all out of my mind and forget about it. Tim had ... read more
Well, I don't really know what I expected but I don't feel a day over 39 this morning !! Maybe turning 40 isn't going to be so bad after all. We woke up in Cheyenne, Wyoming and it was kinda chilly. I put on long pants because we had planned on going ice skating today and I didn't want to freeze when I fell down on the ice. Tim got dressed wearing his shorts and flip-lops as usual and we were off to try something new. We have never been ice skating together and it had been a while for both of us so we were excited. Tim programmed in the Taco John's Civic Center and off we went to do a little skating. Well, we just thought we were going to ice skate this morning. ... read more
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday dear Candy, Happy Birthday to ME !! I hit a huge milestone in my life today.............when I woke up this morning I was the big 40 !! I have been dreading it for a while now but knew that it was inevitable. It was coming whether I liked it or not. Many of my friends have already experienced turning 40 this year and they have tried their best to convince me to embrace it and enjoy it. Although I know it's just a number and you're only as old as you feel I just can't get past it. I'm gonna try and face today with a big smile on my face and just be thankful that I made it this far. I'm sure in time I ... read more
Today is July 15 and I can't believe half of July is already over. Time is just flying by out here on the road and August is going to be here before we know it. We're still not exactly sure when we're going to head on back home yet, all we know is that Kayla starts school on August 2nd so we really need to be there to help her with that. Although, she says that she can handle it on her own, I just wouldn't feel right not being there. It was kind of noisy around here this morning due to all the motorhomes that were surrounding us but it was okay, we needed to get up anyway. It almost felt like we were at a RV park or something, minus all the screaming kids ... read more
Thank goodness we were able to sleep late this morning and no one came knockin' on the door to kick us out. That drive last night was exhausting and we were so tired and the extra sleep this morning was great. We eventually got out of bed and began our daily routine. Soon we were ready to leave the rest area in Crown Springs, Montana and head over to the Chico Hot Springs in a small town called Pray. On the drive over to Pray, Tim spotted a little coffee drive-thru so we pulled in to get him a cup of joe. As we were walking over to Poppy's Coffee Barn we spotted a place called the Old Saloon and thought we would check it out. The nice lady at Poppy's told us how incredible the ... read more
Good morning Grand Tetons !! We woke up in Moran, Wyoming today at the Grand Teton Park RV Resort to a chilly but beautiful sunrise. We were both really excited to finish seeing the Grand Teton National Park as well as going back to Yellowstone. Tim drank his coffee while I sat just outside the motorhome and fed the ground squirrels some peanuts for breakfast. They are the cutest little things and I don't mind throwing them a little something to eat but I'm not about to touch them and let them crawl all over me like Tim does. He plays with them like they are little puppies or something and I swear he's gonna mess around and get bit oneday. Anyhow, we got everything all packed up and headed out for the Tetons. My sweet ... read more
This morning marks the beginning of day 30 for us. We have officially been on the road for a month and I must say we are lovin' every minute of it. When I think back to the beginning of the trip it feels like forever ago and I have to go back and read my own blogs to remember what we were doing. It does get a little hard sometimes because we miss the kids, our family and friends but luckily we have the internet and cell phones to help us keep in touch almost daily. Tim and I were just talking yesterday about how very blessed we are to be livin' the American dream at such a young age. We are so thankful for this incredible opportunity and never take it for granted, not even ... read more
I woke up bright and early this morning in Missoula, Montana and began my day with a trip to Wal-Mart. I went to make me a bowl of cereal and we were out of milk so I grabbed my wallet and off I went. I left Tim sleeping so he could get a little extra rest but when I returned he was already dressed and ready to go. He stood there counting all the other motorhomes in the parking lot and said there were 16 others besides us. That's probably comes close to being the most ever. It's so weird because it's like we're a little club or something......"The Wal-Mart RV Club" ! Often we'll see the same people from town to town and get to know each other. We were having some trouble with the ... read more
Yesterday was such a fun day for us and now we were all rested up for our big drive today. We both just love doing adventurous stuff like that especially since we're getting older and we're not sure how much longer these old bodies will hold up. I guess we figure we better get it done now just in case. After we got our showers, ate breakfast and filled up with gas it was time to head on over to Missoula, Montana. Yep, I said Montana !! We've been from Oregon to Idaho to Washington and now we were headed to Montana. It's always an adventure around here and we're always off in search of something new to discover. We hit the road with happy faces and open eyes. After having the cow run out in ... read more
I guess all the kids and dogs were already in bed last night when we arrived because there was no evidence they were right next door until I heard them screaming and barking at 7:00 am this morning !! I was not very happy to say the least. We didn't have to get up until 9:00 am today and we were both looking so forward to sleeping in and getting that little bit of extra rest. Oh well, I had no choice but to get up because I couldn't sleep through it but Tim did eventually fall back asleep and got a little more shut eye before time to get up and get ready for our big adventure today. I used the extra time this morning to clean up around the house some including cleaning out ... read more
