I don’t believe it ! Are you kidding me ? It hasn’t rained since we picked up Lynn, Jason and Heidi from the airport in Portland, Maine yet they went home yesterday and now it’s pouring down rain again ! Lynn should have never taken those bright yellow sunshiny pj’s back home with her. She wore them the first night with us and the rain mysteriously went away but she packed them up and took them back to Georgia with her and now the rain is back. Well, even though we were in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Miramichi, New Brunswick, [View Full Entry]

Oh my goodness ! We all woke up this morning still talking about crazy ole Jerry from Halifax. He was the topic over morning coffee and what better way to start our last day off than with a ton of laughter. Poor Jerry, we’ll be talking about him for years to come. The sunrise was amazing here at Shubie Park this morning and Lynn and I savored every moment of it on the way to the showers. I kindly smiled and waved good morning to Martha Stewart across the way even though she unknowingly made me feel like a piece of [View Full Entry]

We must be living right or something because when we woke up this morning the sun was shining and it was another beautiful day. It was so late when we got here last night we really couldn’t see much but we were able to catch a glance this morning and Shubie Park Campground seemed to be a pretty nice place. There were little kids playing on the swing set, all types of dogs being walked by their owners and then there was Martha Stewart across from us cooking up her family some bacon and eggs for breakfast. Boy did she make [View Full Entry]

After an amazing day yesterday, I slept so good last night. When I woke up this morning I felt extremely rested and relaxed. It really helped that the sun was shining and it was already 59 degrees. It was destined to be a glorious and beautiful day. Little did we know just how wonderful it would be. We were going to spend the day driving and hiking the Cabot Trail through the elusive Cape Breton National Park which is known to be one of the most beautiful scenic drives in the world. The five of us hopped up out of bed [View Full Entry]

Yesterday was a long and exhausting day but we had so much fun and made so many unforgettable memories. When I woke up this morning in Scotia Pine Campground in Truro, Nova Scotia, I had to pinch myself and make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I’ve always wanted to see Nova Scotia and I truly never thought it would happen, but here I am and it is real. (smiling really big) It was freezing cold this morning as the thermometer read a mere 43 degrees but we had to get out of bed and get the ball rollin’. We made our way [View Full Entry]

Today was the big day, we were finally going to Prince Edward Island and I was so excited. I was also excited about having to pay to take a shower, NOT ! This was going to be a new experience for us but I was anxious to see how it worked. We gathered our bath buckets and quarters and we made our way on over to the bath house. We started investigating the situation and soon figured out that there was a box right outside the shower that you had to put the money into in order to get water. Once [View Full Entry]

We awoke this morning in St. Martins, New Brunswick to a cool and foggy day. It was 62 degrees at 8:00 am and little did we know that the mercury would rise no higher today. Tim and Lynn really wanted to see the sunrise here so Tim set his phone alarm to go off at 5:20 am. He actually got up three different times waiting and watching for the sun but the fog was just too dense so they didn’t get to see it. There were only two showers on each side so we girls had to rotate in and out [View Full Entry]

It was time to say good bye to Bar Harbor, Maine and to our son Jonathan. His week was over and it was time for him to head on back home to Pennsylvania and off to work again on Monday morning. We were up at the crack of dawn today, somewhere around 6:00 am. We all managed to make our way to the bath house and get ready just in time to leave by 7:15 am. On the way to the airport in Bangor, Maine we came to the consensus that all of the girls were morning people but the boys [View Full Entry]

I am so happy to report that our first night with a party of six went great ! Everyone slept well and they even woke up in a good mood. It’s seems as though they must have brought some of that good ole’ Georgia sunshine with them up here to Maine. When we got up this morning those golden rays were just a shinin’ through the windows and we couldn’t be more happy ! After a week of really crappy weather, it finally looked like we were going to be able to get out and do some stuff without having to [View Full Entry]

It’s the fourth of July and what better way to spend it than with the people you love ! The six of us slept sooooooo good last night ! We were completely exhausted from all the excitement yesterday but we were ready for a new day. Acadia National Park was calling our name ! The Bar Harbor KOA is a wonderful campground with great amenities and beautiful views of the Western Bay. We decided that we would head on up to the showers and get ready to explore. In the spirit of the fourth today, Lynn wore a red shirt, I [View Full Entry]
