After all that riding and driving yesterday we both slept so good last night. We got up, got our showers and had McDonalds for breakfast before heading off for the Idaho border. But before we could go too far we had to stop and fill up Big Bertha's tank and clean the windshield. She was filthy !! Tim filled her up, cleaned her up and even made a new friend at the gas station and soon we were on our way. Our only stop today on our 8 hour drive would be between Ontairo, Oregon and Lewsiton, Idaho at the Old Idaho State Penitentiary in Boise, Idaho. Tim programmed Magellan and off we went straight for Boise. I had read online about how you could tour the old state penn and I knew how much Tim ... read more

We woke up in Bend, Oregon this morning in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Last night was kinda interesting because there was a crazy couple parked beside us and they were just a yelling and screaming at each other right out in the open for the whole world to see and hear. I even opened the door thinking they would be embarassed and stop but that didn't make any difference at all. I swear you just never know what you're gonna run into out on the road these days. I watched and listened for a while just to make sure it didn't get physical and no one got shot but I had to get in the dang bed. It was getting pretty cold so I decided to close the door and lock-up everything and hope for the ... read more

As you can imagine, after the night I had last night, I was a little slow risin' and shinin' this morning. I am seriously getting too old for that mess and eventually I'm gonna realize it ! Tim was being so sweet to me this morning cause he knew my head was pounding and it was going to be a rough day for me. He made me some breakfast and I slowly began to gather my thoughts and once I had my shower I was good to go. I was excited about getting to tour the Harry & David factory here in Medford, OR so I got myself together and called to get our tickets. Oh no, I was so upset.........they were closed for the holiday until Thursday !! I can't believe it, I was looking ... read more

Tim and I were still so pumped this morning about seeing the bear yesterday at Yosemite. That's the first thing we said to each other this morning, "Can you believe we saw a bear???". We were parked right beside a Jack In The Box so we thought we would try it for breakfast this morning. I ran over while Tim was getting ready and tinkering around the motorhome. The biscuits were really good but the coffee actually made Tim sick for most of the day. Just another reason why I don't drink coffee ! We really didn't have anything planned for today except to drive, ride and explore some towns between here and Bend, OR. We did want to go to Mt. Shasta before leaving California so we made our way over there. It's a beautiful ... read more

Good morning everybody and Happy 4th of July !! Ohhhhhh we slept so good last night here in Yosemite National Park. We had the window open for a while until it got too cold and we fell asleep listening to the Merced River flowing gently through the park. Unfortunately our deep sleep was interupted by a loud banging on the door. Of course, I thought it was bear or some wild crazy person trying to kill us but it was just the local Park Ranger kicking us out of our cozy little spot in the woods. Tim went to the door and Mr. Meany Ranger asked for his license and registration and stuff so Tim turned it over. Well, he didn't want to really so he told the ranger that it wasn't his motorhome it was ... read more

We woke up in Carson City this morning to a beautiful sun-shiney day. I was trying to get excited but I knew today was day 21 and the laundry had to be done. Tim absolutely LOVES Ihop so he talked me into an early morning stack of pancakes and boy were they yummy. I haven't had pancakes in forever and as bad as I hate to admit it, these were really really good. Our sweet waitress recommended a local laundromat and gave us directions so as soon as we were done we headed over that way. Tim helped me bag up the laundry and carry it all inside. He even stripped the bed and brought me the sheets and the comforter. All I could think as I put them in the washer was how fresh and ... read more

What a wonderful night's sleep and oh my goodness what an incredible shower !! Tim was just as happy too. He had a pot of hot coffee with all the trimmings right at his bedside. We were both in heaven to say the least. We took our time getting up and ready but eventually made it downstairs to the breakfast buffet. It was okay but it sure wasn't anything like that incredible dinner last night. We finished up breakfast but of course we had to stop by a few machines on the way out the door so we played for a minute or two. With no luck in sight, we made our way down the streets of Reno and all the way back to the motorhome. As we turned the corner and saw Big Bertha sitting ... read more

Good Morning July !! I can't believe it's already July..ugh...that means my BIG birthday is just around the corner and I am NOT looking forward to that !! We ended up doing lots of fun stuff yesterday and we were gonna have lots of time today to rest and relax because we had to drive about 8 hours to get to Reno. We rested really good last night thank goodness because the drive across the Great Salt Lake Desert proved to be brutal for both of us. The wind was blowing about 30-40 miles per hour the entire drive and it was just awful. I was getting motion sickness from all the swaying and Tim's poor shoulders and arms were killing him. During our drive across Utah we passed the Morton Salt Company and I got ... read more

I knew when we fell asleep last night that today was going to be a very long day. We were headed over towards Salt Lake City, Utah and it was going to be a day full of driving and not much else. Tim needed some coffee to get him pumped up and ready for the day so I walked over to McDonalds and bought him a cup along with some breakfast for the both of us. After stumbling around for a little while, we both got ready and soon we were on Highway 139 and making our way down the road. My goodness what a long, curvy, mountainous drive we were taking. It was not fun at all and the both of us were getting sick to our stomachs. We were up and down and up ... read more

After that very long and very tiring drive last night, we were exhausted which made us both sleep like little babies. We woke up this morning in a small town called Frisco, CO and of course we were in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Unfortunately we were up before our alarm went off due to someone's car alarm that was continuously honking right beside us. We hopped up and began getting ready for the day. Tim went into Wal-Mart to pick up a few things we had on our list while I downloaded some pictures and worked on my blogs. Soon we were ready to hit the road and make our way over to the tourist trap of Vail, CO. As we entered downtown Vail, you could tell it was very very nice. Everything looked as if ... read more
