Yesterday was a long and exhausting day but we had so much fun and made so many unforgettable memories. When I woke up this morning in Scotia Pine Campground in Truro, Nova Scotia, I had to pinch myself and make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I’ve always wanted to see Nova Scotia and I truly never thought it would happen, but here I am and it is real. (smiling really big) It was freezing cold this morning as the thermometer read a mere 43 degrees but we had to get out of bed and get the ball rollin’. We made our way over to the “pay showers” and began our morning routine. (still can’t believe I have to pay to take a shower) By this time, we all pretty much had the schedule down pat. It may ... read more

Today was the big day, we were finally going to Prince Edward Island and I was so excited. I was also excited about having to pay to take a shower, NOT ! This was going to be a new experience for us but I was anxious to see how it worked. We gathered our bath buckets and quarters and we made our way on over to the bath house. We started investigating the situation and soon figured out that there was a box right outside the shower that you had to put the money into in order to get water. Once you put a quarter into the box, the water would come on and it would last for 5 minutes so every 5 minutes you had to step out and add another quarter. Let me tell ... read more

We awoke this morning in St. Martins, New Brunswick to a cool and foggy day. It was 62 degrees at 8:00 am and little did we know that the mercury would rise no higher today. Tim and Lynn really wanted to see the sunrise here so Tim set his phone alarm to go off at 5:20 am. He actually got up three different times waiting and watching for the sun but the fog was just too dense so they didn’t get to see it. There were only two showers on each side so we girls had to rotate in and out but we all eventually had our turn. After her shower, Heidi put on a hot pot of coffee while Jason gathered all the trash, they are really getting into this camping thing ! We were ... read more

It was time to say good bye to Bar Harbor, Maine and to our son Jonathan. His week was over and it was time for him to head on back home to Pennsylvania and off to work again on Monday morning. We were up at the crack of dawn today, somewhere around 6:00 am. We all managed to make our way to the bath house and get ready just in time to leave by 7:15 am. On the way to the airport in Bangor, Maine we came to the consensus that all of the girls were morning people but the boys were definitely NOT ! Heidi and Lynn thought that maybe a cup of hot coffee would cheer up the boys so they proceeded to get out the coffee pot and brew up some of that ... read more

I am so happy to report that our first night with a party of six went great ! Everyone slept well and they even woke up in a good mood. It’s seems as though they must have brought some of that good ole’ Georgia sunshine with them up here to Maine. When we got up this morning those golden rays were just a shinin’ through the windows and we couldn’t be more happy ! After a week of really crappy weather, it finally looked like we were going to be able to get out and do some stuff without having to worry about getting all wet. Luckily, Tim, Jon and I survived the first week without catching pneumonia and now at least Jon was going to have a couple of nice days to enjoy. We gathered ... read more

It’s the fourth of July and what better way to spend it than with the people you love ! The six of us slept sooooooo good last night ! We were completely exhausted from all the excitement yesterday but we were ready for a new day. Acadia National Park was calling our name ! The Bar Harbor KOA is a wonderful campground with great amenities and beautiful views of the Western Bay. We decided that we would head on up to the showers and get ready to explore. In the spirit of the fourth today, Lynn wore a red shirt, I wore a white shirt and Tim sported a blue shirt. I must say we were looking quite patriotic ! We packed up the motor home and headed out for Acadia National Park. On the way ... read more

Well heck, you would think by now we would be getting used to all this crazy cold New England weather but when you wake up on July 2nd and it’s so cold you can see your breathe, that’s just insane !! We decided last night that we were going to sleep in this morning so we didn’t even set the alarm on Tim’s phone. Somewhere around 11:00 am we rolled on out of bed to another rainy day. The thermometer on the window said it was 53 degrees and I believe it ! We actually had to cut the heat on for a bit because as we were talking we could see our breathe in the air ! I really needed to make a trip inside and re-stock on a few things before the rest of ... read more

Oh my goodness ya’ll, it was 54 degrees when we woke up this morning ! Have you ever experienced a July 1st in this kind of weather ? It is freezing cold and Tim is lovin’ every minute of it ! He walked outside in his shorts and flip flops and never even skipped a beat. I, on the other hand, was trying to figure out a way to wear my long johns under my clothes today. Jon has pretty much gotten accustomed to it living over in Pennsylvania and all but I prefer the sunshine over this mess any day. Mother Nature is just not listening to my prayers at all; looks like I’m gonna have to go to the higher power on this one. It’s so rainy and wet and dreary up here and ... read more

We awoke this morning in beautiful Cape Ann, Massachusetts. We were told that it was a popular tourist town with scenic coastlines, beautiful beaches and elegant restaurants that serve some of the world’s finest seafood. We even heard that the old movie "The Perfect Storm" and the new movie "The Proposal" were filmed here. Of course, we would have to take everyone’s word for it because all we could see were the deep dark clouds hovering over us and the smoky fog from the bay. It seems as though the rain is following us along our journey through The New England states and it’s really starting to get on my nerves ! I know I complain about the Georgia heat sometimes during our humid summers but boy what would I give to see a little piece ... read more

I heard the first rain drops somewhere around 3 am this morning. I opened one eye long enough to make sure it was rain pounding down on the motor home and not something else and then I fell quickly back to sleep. Don’t ya just love sleeping in the rain ?? I do, and that’s exactly what I did until about 9 o’clock or so. Tim kept nudging me telling me we needed to get up but all I wanted to do was just listen to the rain bouncing off the rooftop. I eventually had to roll out of bed and get things going so I got on up and made my way to the shower. Once I was done, the guys got up and they began getting ready too. After breakfast in the motor home, ... read more
