Here we are about to leave the house to head out on our excursion !!
Let's see where to begin.......... Day 1 consisted of trying to get out of Georgia. We finished loading the motor home around 12:00 and finally pulled out of the driveway around 12:30. We headed to Hampton to pick up a portable internet thingy from Anthony so we would be able to get service all over the US. (Thanks Anthony !) We made it to Anthony and Sheryl's house and I realized that I forgot to buy a
broom, so Sheryl. being the angel she is, went inside and brought me her broom to take with me. (Thanks Sheryl ! ) All the while Anthony and Tim are realizing that the little internet thingy isn't working on our laptop so about 20 minutes into it, Chrissy, being the little angel she is, went inside and brought us her laptop to take with us. (Thanks Crik !) A little while later we head up the street to Moma and Daddy's to say our goodbye's. When we get into the house, Daddy has us a bag full of homegrown tomatoes that he had just picked from his garden. (Thanks Daddy !) I quickly realized that we couldn't have tomato sandwiches without salt and pepper,

so Moma went into her stash and brought me out a set of salt and pepper shakers for the trip. (Thanks Moma !) After our emotional goodbye's we headed up the highway to bid a farewell to Grandma Peggy and Daddy Jack. First we had to stop off at Chick-fil-A for lunch. Peggy and Jack hadn't even seen the motor home yet so we had to give them the grand tour when we got there. After the tour Daddy Jack surprises Tim with his old CB radio and insisted that we take it along. He was so excited because this is the same CB radio that they had used on trips for many many years while Tim was growing up. (Thanks Daddy Jack !) We loaded up the CB and headed to the Sprint store on Mt. Zion because Kayla discovered that her text messaging wasn't working anymore and there was no way we were leaving Georgia without her text messaging !! By this time it's 6:00 and we were still in Morrow, Georgia. But we headed out and began our journey. We ended up going all the way through Tennessee, Kentucky and halfway through Illinois that night before Tim

decided to pull into a Wal-Mart parking lot and settle down for the night. I must say our first night in the motor home was way more comfortable than I thought it would be and we made it a lot farther than we had expected. Thanks to all of our WONDERFUL family for always being there for us !!

I wanted to get pictures with all the state signs but Illinois and Missouri were over the water so we couldn't stop and get those. 😞
