I am wondering if anyone's lists would change to include (or perhaps delete) Beijing following the olympic games. i think that formerly, Shanghai and Beijing were kind of on par as far as how famous they were, but i am thinking that after the olympics, that might change. Beijing is fresh in everyone's minds and they might tend to think of it more than Shanghai when traveling to China. Reply to this

To me Shanghai is still more in my mind, because I know what it is like to be there but I have never been in Beijing. Reply to this

Shanghai I think is from a business perspective for certain, and it might still be more well known overall. I haven't been to either unfortunately. I think though, that because of the Great Wall and Tienanmen Square and some of the other famous landmarks that have been show so much during the Olympics, Beijing might start to catch up - esp for people who before might not have considered China but now have seen it so much on TV that they want to go.
