I am giving up my well paid job, house, friends, family etc to travel the world!!
I would say "go for it!" I am 29 and packed my bags in March this year. I left the comfort zone in the Netherlands an traveled to South Africa. I have always known that I wanted to work with/for wildlife but never had the guts to leave my job, family and friends. I don't think I could have made any better decision! It is already 7 months later and time is flying by. I am a volunteer coordinator for the Knysna Elephant Park now and I can say that I am realizing my dream. Go for it!!!!!!!

Reply to this Hello Keri Lou 😊
U are certainly not giving it all up.
I have travelled extensively and still travel a lot.
I also have a number of qualifications, am a home owner, have a child and am living with the father, and have worked for several years in companies.
There is no law to say u can only do one thing with your life.
My sister does not travel much. She is just 2 years younger than I am. I dont think she is more financially secure than I am, despite her lack of travelling. Also she has no children, so I feel like I actually have more in life than she does.

Reply to this Only 91 days to go!!!! Does anyone have any tips on South America??? want to go to Rio but am finding it hard to get anywhere cheapish due to carnival!! Think its best to stay outside and travel in for the carnival by train (so I have been told) but where can we stop thats on the train route???
Reply to this Hello Keri Lou 😊
Rio is expensive at any time, let alone during the carnival.
When I was there, I stayed in a crowded shared appartment. It seemed to be the only reasonably priced place available to stay.
It was advertised in the Lonely Planet. I dont have a copy of that right now, so cant give the contact details.
Maybe somebody else can.

Reply to this You know the biggest problem?....once you do major travel like this, it's damn hard not to have itchy feet for the rest of your life!! The joys and sorrows and skills you pick up will serve you well for the rest of your life. Enjoy!
