If you are from the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Italy France and Germany, entering Thailand overland, the free Visa Exemption has been increased. Previously when you enter Thailand at a land entry point you only received 15 days. Not you can get a free 30 day visa exemption.

Hey Hal, Have you heard anything on the news front regarding Thailand moving the land crossing visa back to 15 days? Some blogs say yes and some say no so it's a bit confusing just want to see if anyone else has heard anything? Thanks --- Greg Reply to this

I think it is still 30 days for those G-7 member countries that qualify.

But things change daily. To qualify for the free Visa Exemption you still need "proof of onward travel" from Thailand within 30 days. Thai Visa Forum goes into the changes and latest information with more detail.

If the link doesn't show up do a Google check for Thai Visa Forum. (Link didn't show up on preview.)

Yes I'll have an onward ticket out of Thailand within the 30 days, just hate to get to the border and ooppss sorry it's only 15 days now, you know. Actually am trying to stay about 21 days.

Thanks again!

Yes and the number of countries which have been exempted from visa charges is around 50 and the period is from 30 days to even 90 days in some situations Reply to this
