I have read a few posts similiar to my query but thought i would ask anyway as everybodys adventures are a bit different!
We are flying to Thailand on the July 21st to Bangkok - the plan is to book a hotel to stay that night as we land in the evening. Then we would like to fly to the south - I have looked at flights to Koh Samui and they seem alot more expensive than flights to Surat Thani??
Im not sure which order to visit these places (or length of stay) bearing in mind we would have to fly back from Surat Thani to Bangkok to fly home on the 11th of August. (20 days away).
The places we would love to see are:
Koh Samui
Koh Phangan (esp be there on the 3rd of Aug for half moon party & bday!!)
Koh Tao
Phuket
Phi Phi
I wonder how long it takes to get from Surat Thani to Phuket?? and whats the best way to travel etc?
Any suggestions would be greatly received.
Many Thanks
Katy 😊

From Koh Samui, you can easily take a boat to Koh Phangan. The boat ticket will also usually include transport to the pier. From Koh Pha Ngan you can take a boat easily to Surat Thani. From there you can easily take a bus to Phuket from the bus or train station(it stops at both). I cant comment on the other islands, because I havent yet visited them. Hopefully somebody else will.

Reply to this You are not going to fly all the way to Thailand and skip Bangkok are you? Why not see that city for a few days and do a final night there before you fly home? This way you can make your transportation arrangements in Bangkok on the first trip and do some last minute shopping later before you fly out.
Try to fit in a visit to northern Thailand if you can, this way you can see and experience some of the "real Thailand!" You do not have to be at a beach to get a tan in Thailand - Thailand has "summer like" weather all year long from top to bottom!
Up to you!
