Using a Company to get a Visa!

Should I do it? Is it safe??

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone had some advice about how to go about getting a China Visa in the USA. There's not really a Chinese Consulate near me so doing it myself isn't really an option. I am thinking about using one of the internet companies that can get the visa for you. But, sending my passport to someone in the mail seems sort of sketch.

Has anyone used these companies before successfully? Is this how it is usually done? I guess if all else fails I can make a road trip to a city to get it myself but this is my last resort. I would like some advice please!!

Thanks! Reply to this

Hello Gabe and Stephanie 😊

I think it can be useful to use a visa company, if they have a good reputation, especially for countries where the visa rules are unclear or where getting the visa is difficult.

Has anyone used these companies before successfully?

I used one of those services to help get me get the visa for Iran. I did not have to send my passport to them. They just got me a visa code which made things easier and quicker when I went to the Iranian consulate.

But Chinese visas are generally not so complicated. I would send the passport and visa application, fee etc by registered or insured mail to the Chinese consulate, with an insured or registered envelope for them to send your passport back to you. No need for a visa agency in this case, in my opinion.

Hi,
Here in Greece the Chinese consulate since a few years back does NOT accept visa applications via mail or courier. Someone has to come with the documents in person and also pick them up the same way. However it may be a third person, for example a friend or relative. I think before you do anything else you should contact the consulate what is valid in the US. However from what I read I believe it is the same procedure there. Enjoy your trip. Reply to this

Gabanie, another alternative is to use the travel agency to do the visa application for you. For a fee, most travel agencies will apply the visa on your behalf. Chinese embassies accept it. Maybe you need to buy from the agencies where the consulates/embassy are located. Reply to this
