I will never eat that again.

What have you eaten while travelling that you will never eat again? Or at least you hope you never will.

Do they eat Pandas, in China too? Those seem too cute to eat. Reply to this

It's difficult to be upset about eating nondescript, tasty meat, so I just relaxed and enjoyed finishing eating my snakes.

I think I just ate half of a snake...

Liver. I hate it. Absolutely hate it. Unfortunately it's generally liked in some regions of Poland, where I usually am.😊

Or this soup... I don't know what it's called. It's like chicken soup but with animal blood. I fainted when I tried it.😊 Reply to this

The locals here in the Philippines have a soup called "Soup number 5" which is basically bull pen**and/or testicles. An effective aphrodisiac, they said, but I guess I don't need that when I'm traveling. lol

Speaking of blood soup, they also have this thing called 'dinuguan'. Pig innards (anything but the meat) boiled in pig blood, spiced with herbs and pepper. Reply to this

Last night I ate balod, a delicacy here in the Philippines. It's a boiled egg with a chick inside and was a bit foul.

@EdVallance

you mean balut..it is a fertilized duck with a not-yet-developed embryo..I love eating it but only if I can't see the duck's feathers, eyes and bones..

when i was out on a camp last year, they cooked dog meat..i first though it was just fried beef so I had one slice on my plate..everybody was just looking at me, smiling, as I took my first bite..it tastes a little different so i asked them what it was. when i knew it was dog meat i never ate the rest on my plate. I gave it to the dog from the place where we camped but he didn't eat it..i think he sensed it was their meat! Reply to this

actually, I like soup number 5. it is absolutely yummy. but, didn't actually had any effect on the aphrodisiac thingy. lol.
I like liver barbeque. as long as its cooked well, when it comes with vinegar, onions and some chilli, it tastes good. at one time when I was enjoying a Filipino style drinking session (a group shares alcohol with one glass and it goes around giving everyone same amount of beer), I ate dog meat. well, I haven't eaten some since then, but I can't really say that i wont do it again...maybe if I get drunk again...😉 Reply to this

I don't know whether you will find this fortunate or unfortunate (fortunate in my case), but dog meat is being tagged as criminal. xD Animal cruelty and such, since dogs aren't bred for food (and some belief that you could contract some strange disease from eating the meat of a sick animal.)

@Soup Number 5: Is it me, or is the the penorz really just too leathery when they cook it? Reply to this

I don't know, I don't think I ate that part in my soup... everything is sticky and creamy and slippery for me..

I tried cutting it just for the fun of it (didn't really it much of it knowing your eating the thingy of an animal). It was incredibly tough like ligament. Reply to this

The most random thing I have swallowed is pickled gherkin flavoured, fizzy Ukrainian milk with dill leaves floating on top.

- Jonathan C

I had something like that at an Iranian restaurant this weekend - I liked it 😊 - Doogh - reminded me of Kefir from Hungary - which I learned to like while there.

@Mel - The Chapulines (fried grasshoppers) - were crunchy on the outside, gooey in the middle and tasted vaguely like twiglets. A few beers and we were tucking into them like you would with a bowl of peanuts... yummy. Reply to this
