Hi there, Just wanted to let you know we made it safely into Brazil. On the way down our flight to Miami was delayed an hour. As a reesult we missed our connection to Rio. The airline was wonderful and put us up in a hotel and gave us food vouchers for all our meals. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because we had the whole next day until our flight at 11:00 pm to see Miami. We rented a car for the day and spent the day in South Beach. It was a chance for us to see how miserably hot and humid Florida will be if we are still there next summer. Walking around in it was horrible, but we decided we could tolerate it for the summers if it meant winters ... read more

Departure.... It doesnt matter how many times you leave your friends and family, it still hurts my hurt and makes my eyes wet. Still doesnt feel as if we are really going, until we leave the business snob lounge with our pockets stuffed full of free goodies (scouse style)! Air France is pretty moody but Will and I spaz out nonetheless at the comfort and the gadgets on board (with obvious disapproving looks from the toffs of course!) No time for messing there are Xanax to be ate ZZZZZzzzzz! Killwillbarometer 6/10: Overdosing on sleeping tabs aint cool Touchdown...27th Aug Driving through early morning Rio seeing downtown, sugar loaf and Christ felt pretty surreal. Howdy readers! It's been a while since our last update, so we should probably let you know what has happened since our last post. We flew in to Rio on the night of the 19th. We were staying on Copacabana beach because all the accommodation on Ipanema was full. Found some food in the way of crepes at this little place called Yonza. Dirt cheap food and drink, a must for anyone staying around this area. With large manga style cartoons on the walls, this place was pretty cool.( Bowz was keen for a night out, but as we were planning on flying next morning, i convinced him to head home early, so we finished about 1am- Danyane ) Got up the next morning for our hang gliding adventure! What a place. No view disappointed, but the air of insecurity was palpable as well. South American Los Angeles - Just Buckwild! 'nuff said. Great beaches with marvelous surf and plenty of hostels for backpackers. Not our favorite, if still very beautiful. Great Graffiti everywhere. Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la....... at the copa copacabana..... The song goes round and round in your head. It drives you crazy at times but the realisation that we were in Rio was great as much as it was a little unnerving. Having checked into our hostel there was about another hour of light left so we headed straight for the Copacabana beach. We are only staying 2 blocks away so the walk is short and quick. We head out over the busy road and onto the promenade and there it is stretching out in each direction it is huge and very wide.
