The last Summit attempt for this time After Illimani Bjoern, Oeyvind, Hilde and Torbjoern had a few days left before going back to Norway. A lot of options were discussed but we ended up going back to Condoriri. Hilde and Torbjoern wanted to try a direct route on Piramida Blanca, while Bjoern, Oeyvind and I decided to go for the face at Ala Izquierda. Eirin wanted to stay in La Paz for these two days. Jorge, our new driver since Sergio was in the mountains with a group from the British company Jagged Globe, took us back to Condoriri at tuesday 13th of july. The Condoriri Massif Last monday Sergio brought us up to the Condoriri Mountains with his Landcruiser. We planed to spend five days up there to climb and acclimatize. I was in the same area two years ago with Sergio and really liked it. ItĀ“s a beautiful place and you get mountain climbs in many different grades. We all decided to climb Pequeno Alpamayo as the first mountain on thuesday. 4 of us did the normal route while Hilde and Oeyvind went for the direct route up a 250 meter face. Starting at 4 in the morning we thought we had plenty of time. But the altitude and the size of the groupe slowed us down a bit, so we arrived back in camp around 5.30 in the afternoon. Very early Sunday morning we had to be in front of a travel agency. They said 7.00 precisely, we wait for nobody. We thought that meant you had to be in time and not 30 minutes later which is normal here in Bolivia. Ok we believed it but it became 7.15, 7.30, 7.45, 8.00, 8.15 and finally at 8.30 we left. We were with a colleague who is here already for 3 years and she kept on saying " after 3 years I am still so stupid to believe it if they say 7.00 sharp".
