Hi again everyone We arrived in Puerto Madyrn yesterday by overnight coach from Barlioche, which was very plush with massive seats, but two terrible films! It was a bit like flying Business Class (according to Steve !!!) We decided to travel to Madyrn for the whale watching... After checking out the prices and noticing the vast numbers of old aged pensioners on the tour buses! we decided to hire a car and do the trip on our own. We hired a stylish, BMW, well not quite! (see photo), we definitely had the sadest car around!...the drive was long and a little tiresome on very gravly roads, but we were on our way to see Whales...so we didnt mind, we were EXCITED....so you can imagine our disappointment when, on arrival at the port at 9am, we were ... read more

They affectionately call it the "end of the world" but I think they are being a bit hard on themselves as it is too beautiful to be called that! I´m talking about Ushuaia and it claims to be the most southerly town in the world. Bit of a cross between an Antarctica outstation and a ski resort. Everything get covered in that grey grime that comes from the harsh climate and glacier country. On the day that I arrived I did a boat tour on the beaver channel. Didn´t see any beavers but did see lots of sealions and birds. There´s also a nice light-house and is shown in the pictures. That night I tucked into a great feed - BBQ, Argentinian style. There was a man inside this cage with carcasses racked around a fire. ... read more

Take 4 whales, 18 metres long, a boat load of awe struck tourists, and you get one hell of an orgy...yep, the wales were having sex, 3 males and 1 female...back on land the madness continued, daves weapon of choice: a fork, mine: a fast moving BMX! two objects that should be avoided when blindly drunk, but my mom only said don´t swim when drunk, nothing about cycling! and I for one reccomend the bike, didn´t fancy daves fork much...and neither did the other bar customers, maybe they were laughing on the inside! turn up the heat its cold down here, relentless tequila drinking, a silly hats are advised! 24 hours from Tulsa, no way, we´ll be boarding in Ushuaia by then, I hate to do this to you but I love somebody new, what can ... read more

Ok so I wanted to see the penguins in Puerto Madryn and penguins I saw!!!! I arrived in PM after a very uncomfortable night on a ‘semi cama’ bus which was DEFINETLY not semi cama (which essentially means a leg rest). So I staggered to the hostel and fell into bed for a couple of hours. Trekked off to inspect PM which is a sleepy little town situated in a bay. The first thing which caught my attention was the weather. There was I dressed in jeans and jumper as I had been in Bariloche and I was sweltering! I had assumed that since it was further south it would be cold. Not so - we may be in Patagonia but it was 25 C. I found myself the one restaurant on the beach and ordered ... read more

Parlant d'animaux, ... read more
