Saa skriver jeg mine sidste australske strofer paa denne hjemmeside. Nuvel, jeg fortsaetter nok lidt, naar jeg er hjemme. Der skal vist finpudses hist og pist. 7,5 fantastiske uger rinder ud. Thailand YES - Australien YES - I'm sure I'll be back. Har netop forladt stolen hos Hairdresser Adrienne in Queen Street, saa nu er jeg klar til Mia og Soerens superbryllup i kommende weekend. Er naturligvis ogsaa klar til at go working again, omend jeg nok er at finde somewhere in dreamland for the next months or more.

Left The Barn at Abel Tasman, drove east through Nelson, stopped off at Havelock (The world's capital for green lipped mussels) for a harbourside rest. Had a very winding and steep drive for 30 mins further to the water taxi jetti for our backpackers Hopewell Backpackers. What a fantastic place!! It is set within Marlborough Sounds in lovely gardens overlooking the water. There is nothing else apart from the lodge within reach (no shops/bars/houses) unless you take a boat back to where we came from. Hopewell is on the beach, and we harvested mussels and oysters for our tea!!! We've relaxed in the spa overlooking the Sounds, kayaked, fished and took a pretty hard walk to Pete's Point. It was just over 4 hours round trip, and to get to the point, it's a rugged and ... read more

Hi everyone, Well here we are on the Eyre Peninsula at last. Have heard so much about this part of SA and it has been pretty good. After leaving the Barossa, we drove straight to a little place called Melrose in the foothills of the Flinders Ranges. The caravan park was delighful and right at the base of Mt Remarkable. Didn't do the climb because of time constraints - thats my excuse anyway. Rob had recommended we stay here and it was no further than following the beaten track and going to Port Pirie. Had a family of wallabies visit us as we were having sunset drinks. They were so tame the male walked straight between me and the table and even trod on my foot in his effort to find something yummee to eat. Next ... read more

After Cairns it was back down to Brisbane where we were met by our cousin Dave at the airport around 10.30. It had been a long day for Nick and I but when we arrived we were taken on a tour of Brisbane and went for a quick beer on southbank. Although we were pretty tired we both seemed to miraculously regain energy and by 12.30 we were in a casino!! It was alot of fun and suprisingly rewarding for all of us! It turned out to be a very late night and we ended up driving back to Noosa at 4.30 arriving at around 6.30! For Nick and I Noosa was a very welcome change and it was great to see John, Fred, David and Jess. The house in Cooroy was amazing with very ... read more

Monday 13.03.06 We were up early this morning as the bus was leaving for our canoeing trip at 8am. Slept surprisingly well! Best sleep since we've been away. We (Andy, Derek, Florian and I) got taken to a house where we picked up all our gear (barrels, cookers, tent). Here we met up with the people who booked through a tour company called 'Peterpans'. We were going to book through them but ours was cheaper and you get 2 free nights else where! And we spent the whole trip with them so it was exactly the same yet cheaper!! We paid our ferry taxi fees and loaded up the boat (walking through the water). On the boat was an aboriginal guy called 'water' he was very funny and a little crazy. He took an instant shine ... read more

We came back from the routeburn track all wet and very tired, got back to queenstown and jumped into town for the internet. On the way I told daniel that maybe we should check at the D.O.C office(the office that is responsible for all the walking tracks in new zealand) if there was a cancellation on the milford track and to see if there is room for us. Now the milford track is the most popular track in NZ and considered by many to be the most beautifull, not only in New zealand but in the entire world. To get on this track you usually have to book it from October, and I obviously didn't do that. Me and Daniel checked for the entire last 2 weeks to see if there were places and there never ... read more

Having secured a job pear picking on Lammerview Orchard, Ettrick. We turned up the afternoon before & met Judith who showed us the openfire bungalow where we would be staying & the two girls we were sharing it with, Eva from Wales & Nicole from Holland. We were given a free run of the property which included a swimming pool, herb garden & acres of pear & apple trees & were given loads of fresh fruit & veggies to cook with. The morning started at 8:30 when Alistair came round to the house with Ram a Nepalese ex-policeman who was also going to be picking with us. We signed our contracts & tax forms but couldn't start work yet as it had rained the night before & we had to wait for the trees to dry ... read more

Right. So this is a cheat - I am not home... I haven't been home for five months now! But I have just started this new blog as a record of my adventures, now that JennyandJu have become Jenny and Juliet once more... and I felt the need to share a capsule of things from home, whilst actually sitting inside on a rainy London day. So I'm writing this in September, but it's dated March... the 15th of March. Because that was the day I left NZ. It's not that I am homesick as such. I haven't been crying into my kippers and wishing I was at home. There's too much to do here, and I'm barely getting started on my "must do!" lists. In fact, I haven't even had kippers! Why has nobody offered me ... read more

It was my special wish to go and see Mouraki Boulders. It was about the only place in New Zealand I knew about before I came here. I had seen a picture in a calendar showing "Dream Horizons". And I wanted to take pictures myself. Unfortunately the Weather was not to good, but we still enjoyed this accumulation of huge stone marbles.... read more
