He hoi, Vorige week walvissen en dolfijnen gezien in Kaikoura. Aangezien ik niet zulke goede ervaringen heb met het varen op open oceaan, had ik voorzorgsmaatregelen getroffen. 2 Pillen tegen zeeziekte. Nou, ik heb het geweten hoor. Vlak voordat we met de bus naar de boot werden gebracht, begon het me te duizelen. Het voelde alsof ik dronken was en ik liep dan ook wankel. Tijdens de boottocht heb ik echter nergens last van gehad. Het is, dat de gids zei dat het een walvis was… Wat ik zag was een grijs, bewegend oppervlakte van zo’n 20 cm boven het water en ongeveer 1,5 meter in lengte. Af en toe blief zij (hoe ik dat weet?) wat water omhoog. Dan te bedenken hoeveel er onder water moest zijn! Het werd een beetje interessant op het moment ... read more

Hoi allemaal, Vanaf nu wordt het wat saai… Ik bedoel, er is niet zo gek veel extra’s te vertellen nu ik aan het werk ben op 1 vaste plek voor langere tijd. Voor mij is het niet saai hoor! Ik geniet nog steeds iedere ochtend van de prachtige uitzichten en het leren van de (vaste) activiteiten. Over een bepaalde tijd zal ik deze activiteiten zelf zodanig beheersen, dat ik voor verschillende niveaus een aardig programma kan draaien. De volgende uitdaging zal zijn me meer met groepsdynamica bezig te houden. En daar kijk ik enorm naar uit. Vooralsnog is het kajakken leuk om te doen en beter in te worden. phew! We finished up our grand ol trip with a trip to the cadbury chocolate factory and the steepest street in the world. The factory provided a nice insite into the choco-world not to mention some free sweats. yum. The streepest street gave me an oppurtunity to run off those extra calories. We also ran into some english friends from over a month ago at the beginning of our traveling in australia. It was great to catch up with them. So drained of energy and money our pacific extravaganza had to come to and end. The flight was a wopping 13 hours home and we were picked up by the blogmaster himself tom...and it is his apartment where i type this messege now....and so ends the tales from abroad. so we have arrived in the adventure capital of the world: Queenstown, New Zealand. This town has more insane activities than i have even heard of all gathered together in one tremendous "Lifes short-play hard" sorta town. For starters, this is where A.J. Hackett invented bunjee...so we went to this sacred birthplace and watched a few blokes tumble off a bridge. Did we do it? no. we both have told ourselves it is too expensive and we have no money...which is true...but also part of me is weeny of course. It also has some variations of this like bunjee from a helicopter 500m up, a swinging gondola in the middle of a canyon or from a descending para-glider. eek. hello friends, me and lara have arrived in new zealand. As anticipated, the coldness factor is great. We flew into the social hub of auckland in the north island(new zealand is made up of 2 islands) and then flew into the very english city of christchurch. Strangely enough we ran into some people we surfed with a month ago. Small world (after all). Yesterday we converged upon new zealands largest Thermal Reserve. These are a collection of naturally hot springs collected in a friendly resort atmosphere in the snowy mountains. One section of pools was heated from sulpher and was about 110 degrees.
