Our visit to Australia didnĀ“t start very well. When we arrived in Sydney after a very long flight we had to wait ages in the longest queue we've ever had in any airport. It was roasting hot and there was no air conditioning. When we got to the immigration official there was the usual unfriendliness, but things got worse when we got through the other side. We had to go through more bag scanning and searches (this is the only place in the world where we've had to do this), the security people were very rude and one of the woman kicked Denise's bag because it wasn't exactly where she wanted it. Denise was ready to punch her lights out! From the airport we headed to our pre-booked accommodation 'Sinclairs of Surry Hills' which sounds quite ... read more

I have managed to land a 4 week contract working as a Financial Modeller. I will basically be building models in Excel and reviewing existing models. Starting tomorrow (Wednesday), and there is free booze EVERY Friday after work......! We went to the St. Paddy's Day parade here last Saturday, it was good craic with all the Irish coming out of the woodwork. They even had St. Patrick himself......on the back of UTE! Only in Oz ! Bought a crappy car yesterday to get us around (1986 Silver Holden Barina - now names the Silver Bullet), and used it to collect Andy and Anto from the airport last night, so now we are 4! Weather is nice, a cosy 28 today. ... read more

Hey, hope everyone is well. We are finally leaving Australia behind (though I guess only for a few weeks). Its been a great jaunt up the East Coast with lots of great memories. Everyone said to me before I went away "oh you know Ade, the time will fly by". I always replied with "yeah yeah" without realising it ain't 'alf true. Crikey. Am even starting to forget about some of the places we've been to and have to resort to looking through photos to remind us. Since last time we spent a few days in the Whitsundays. I'd like to say we did a massive sailing adventure tour, taking in the reef. But we didn't. We did however go on a sailing day trip (and had the BEST BBQ IN THE WORLD) Went snorkelling for ... read more

My room overviews the sea and it's a great feeling to wake up to that every day. I also have bought some nice furniture that has made my room look amazing. These are pictures from one night we had at the Botanics but I can't remember when, I'm sure it was fun though, loads of nice, if repetitive, pictures. Hope you enjoy, Fiona might add to this at a later date but I've nothing more to say on the matter. I thank you.... read more
