Hi this is Gray- Ever been slightly air-sick and hungery at the same time? Not fun. Im soooo tired. We're actually in LA right now (now state for me) but this airport sucks (except it has wireless, which is good) And there was this scottish dude who said "i can't find me flight number" which in my sleep deprived state, was hilarious, yeah. So tired.... ... read more

On Saturday we went to an Australian rules football game woo. It's a crazy sport that aussies, especially in Melbourne and most of south Australia, live for. We went with the hostel on this group tour thing that included a briefing about the rules and lunch. There were only about seven of us from the hostel that went but we had a guide that used to play so it was nice to be constantly informed about what was going on. I loved it but god it was soo freezing. Me and Mo were only wearing hoodies so we pulled them over our heads and scrunched the cord super tight so that only our eyes were peeking out. Fun times. Sunday was go by-the-seat-of-our-pants day. We wandered aroudt the Italian district of the city for most ... read more

Hi guys. It's a little after one am here at Hotel bakpak Melbourne and I just woke up from a nap. Today was a crazy amazing day...we went on the great ocean road tour from seven am till after eight pm and were so exhausted when we got back that we fell asleep until about an hour ago. So at seven this morning a shuttle came to pick us up from our hostel which was very convenient and we were on a bus with about six other girls and our tour guide, Peter. We left the city and drove through a few smaller towns towards the coast, all the while hearing random tidbits about everywhere we went (a famous actor lived here, a terrible forest fire hit here, etc.) We stopped at Bells beach first, which ... read more

Hello again everyone. Sorry we haven't written lately, busy at work. On April 24th we picked up our first Caravan in Adelaide. Thank goodness the way to the highway was a straight line, as this was only the 3rd time driving on the wrong side of the road. We go a 2 berth Toyota van, a little thing. Gas powered 5 speeds. Our first main stop was McDonalds, nothing says going a long driving trip like eating a greasy breakfast. Stopped in Murray Bridge, although we were a little disappointed, we didn’t meet Murray or a bridge, or any of the things the signs pointed to. We picked up the van @ 9:15am and I got us lost by 12:03…after a small detour and a u-turn we were on the Pre-Great Ocean Road. The fist day ... read more

HI everyone! I don't know who's still reading these scattered things and who's given up but...nevertheless we've made it to Australia, only been here for a few hours actually, and already so much has happened. Our flight over was really nice...the airline was named something like cheapflight so we were a little skeptical at first but it was the most comfortable flight yet. We sat next to an aussie rugby player who gave us the heads up on all the places to go, the rules of rugby (don't ask me, I'm still confused) and helped us navigate our way around the airport. When we were getting our luggage, this lady with a kid who had been squalling the entire plane ride, was beside us and, out of the blue, passed him off to Molly so ... read more

Have just found out that the flights for barbados will be leaving from London. The package includes return flights from London and a week's accommodation here South Gap I have informed them I am in Australia and unwilling to pay $2000 AUS to buy flights to London to take up a free holiday. There is talk about doing it again next year and me having a place on that one so I don't miss out. They will speak with Littlewoods to see what is going to happen but it doesn't look good for me going to Barbados this time around. Gutted Mike :( ... read more

Hoi allemaal… Nou ja, ... read more

Hi guys, I thought I better get updated again as my Mam and Dad have just visited us for a week and what a week it was. Those two kept us busy... after taking them on a tour of Melbourne we visited Philip Island for the Penguin Parade and the Great Ocean Road which were both absolutely amazing. The Penguin Parade is difficult to explain but put simply its a parade of 'Fairy' Penguins, each one no bigger than 30cm high and every night at sunset about 2000 of them make their way from the ocean to their homes. We got to sit (in the rain and freezing wind) and watch them waddle past. It is an amazing sight but you'll all have to imagine it as your not allowed to take pictures... Never mind. Anyway ... read more

Are things as bad as my last rant?? ....I'm glad to say that things have been looking up recently and I have been doing bits of work here and there, so all ain't that bad. Chris has been back with us for the last 3 weeks and his parents came over to Melbourne for a couple of days and took us all out to a nice St. Kilda restaurant called Monroes. It was such a wonderful thing to be able to eat proper restaurant food, rather than the sausage pasta or 2 minute noodles I normally survive on! The food was awesome and the beer was good too as we hadn't drank for a while. We all had a great night and really appreciate the generosity of Mama and Pappa Golden paying for everything and having ... read more
