Hey everyone!!! So we've completed our first week in Australia. We arrived last wednesday, and are currently staying with Rohan and Leanne (Leanne is Trent's cousin.) The past week has been kind of a whirlwind! We've made numerous trips in to the city (right now we're about an hour outside of Melbourne city,) to find a place to live, go shopping, and visit with Trent's sister, Karyn. Karyn is wonderful and so knowledgeable about Melbourne, so she helped us in our search for a home. We found a place to live in Port Melbourne. Its a 2nd story apartment with a pool, but it's great because we have our own entrance, and underground parking. We signed the lease yesterday and we're both SUPER EXCITED!! We went after we signed the lease and bought a fridge, washer, ... read more

We were about to land back in Australia. I couldn’t wait. The plane landed. I was home. We got our bags and luggage and left the airport. My uncle and my cousin were waiting for us. They drove us to our new home. As we were driving along, I recognised a lot of the roads and streets. And finally we were there. I think it was strange, coming back from a 6 month trip and into a new house, but I reckon it’s not bad, since we’re still in the same area. We got a fair bit of our stuff in the house that day. I guess there’s nothing else to really say. Because, we’re not abroad any more. My experience overseas was amazing. I did so many things that I didn't believe I could. I ... read more

Well here we are leaving for home. After Disneyland we went on a big plane to go home. It took 15 hours. It was a long time but I slept for some of it and watched movies for the rest of the time When we arrived home we unpacked half of the container that day. We were moving into a different house. I went to bed and missed out on tea because I was tired. It was good and bad to be home. Bad because it meant the trip was over, but good to be home and see my family and friends. Goodbye world trip, I had an amazing time!... read more

I spent the first couple of days at my relitives house sleeping off the stress that was Bangkok! And writing EVERYTHING down in the blog, which reading back, is ridiculas but i think 5 days with no-one to winge to about little things meant that I took it out on the Blog. Thanks to those who stuck it out and read the Bangkok entry! Melbourne in June/July is freezing compared to South East Asia, so arriving felt a bit like coming home because the weather was similar to when I left home back in April. I spent a couple of days sightseeing with my Cousins wife, Margaret who went bush walking with me and took me to feed the Rosella's and see artists. We went to Philip Island to a wildlife park and saw the Penguins ... read more

A story always starts somewhere, and for us, it was the 17th July 2008 and the day before departure. We worked all day to set up the car and van. Around four thirty it was time to hitch up the van. Went to start the car and .............nothing! What do we do now? We rang BMW and within half an hour a fellow was there from Mornington. We had a flat battery. He had the car going in no time and so we went for a drive to charge it up hoping against hope that it wouldn't fail the next day. It was fine. We later realized the car doors had been left open most of the day with the key in the ignition. Dumbo! Shepparton The drive to Shepparton was pleasant enough. The narrow bumpy ... read more

Hey guys, We are actually on our way to Italy at the moment but making a few stops along the way. We managed to score some very cheap euro rail tickets which will get us access to five other countries over a period of two months. At the moment we are in Nicè and the weather is superb! We found a pretty cheesy hotel with a funky smell in it but it's cheap with a nice view. Today we are going to be just kickin back at the beach with a few bevies! Some things i left out of the last entry - I managed to meet a very nice american girl (Alla or Allamarie) that i sort of hooked up with for the time that we stayed at the woodstock hostel. We swapped details so ... read more

hey guys sorry have been a bit slack on updating the blog, been too busy site seeing, and when ever we get a chance the computers are always busy. Any way since the last entry Karina and I have barely had time to rest. We made quite a few friends whilst staying at hostel Woodstock, and they are all great people, thus far we hve been managing to get drunk with them every night on very cheap wine. I think so far the most we have been spending is about 3 euro per bottle which is about 5 or 6 dollars back home. The site seeing high lights thus far have been walking up to the top of the eiffel tower and taking in the spectacular view all the way at the top. Unfortunately we did ... read more

I am writing this on my last evening at home on the couch in my uggboots my nose is a bit cold from the chill and my eyes are hanging a bit from lack of sleep (last night was my last hurrah = no sleep last night). I leave at tomorrow morning at 6am to catch a plane from Melbourne to New York and several road bus/car trips before I am sorted and organised for the summer camp I will be working at in Maine. I haven't really been excited yet, more of my energy over the past few months has been hardcore organising, visas, selling car, sorting out work yada yada. Today was the pinnacle of that as I purchased and packed the last remaining items into my backpack, I would feel excitement for an ... read more
