Hello, We have crossed the country from Perth to Adelaide now, a wonderful experience. The car is doing very well, hope it stays that way. Today we took it relax as we wanted to do some washing, the sun is drying our clothes on the lines right now. Autumn is coming though, as it cools down quite a bit at night. Next week we are heading for Melbourne to visit our friends living there. Did some wine tasting in the Barossa Valley, was great.

My visit to Australia was short and sweet. I arrived in Sydney and spent two nights at Base Sydney where I was able to rendez-vous with friends from New Zealand who were planning to spend a number of months in Australia and happened to arrive the same day as myself! I had a short visit with my friend Cheryl who I worked with at the restaurant in Ottawa... her and her man live around Bondi beach and were very hospitable. We watched an "old" episode of Grey's Anatomy, they are a little behind on this side of the ocean! Arriving Sunday, I flew out Tuesday to Adelaide for a visit with some special people in my life. I spend my days with Danny, Ryan, Chantelle, all friends I spent time with in Darwin... 7 whole years ... read more

After the Grampians we kind of went into hyper speed to Adelaide. But we did stop at Mt. Gambier to check out Blue lake, beautiful and very blue, and is actually there drinking water! Through robe we stopped for coffee at a funky little art shop, pirate style, then headed up to Beachport for the night. First we took a dip in the hyper saline Pool of Siloam where we floated around for awhile until we were completely swarmed by flies and chased away! The next night was spent in Kingston SE home to “Larry the Giant Lobster” but nothing much else. Next morning finally into Adelaide and once again we started looking for work and an apt . We stayed at the caravan park near glenelg beach. While there a friend of the couple we ... read more

Hiya just some piccies from being at adelaide. We've had a great time chilling out and enjoying the relaxation!! We've been into the city exploring - chocolate factory and looking round the shops!! We had Robs birthday last wednesday over at Steve and Lindas (meegs mum and dad). That was fun - we had yummy choccy birthday cake!! We shouldnt be let loose in shops as we tend to have this illness where we just pic up things (princess tiaras, hats etc) put them on our heads and think its great taking pictures of ourselves in them (we get strange looks off people). We met Robs mum - she was lovely - when she got back to her house in Bamberra (not sure on the spelling) home she sent us a xmas pressie - an aussie ... read more

Hi All! Just a quick one as we've got washing and packing to do in prep for flying to Alice Springs tomorrow! Ok Adelaide is not as busy as Melbourne but has lots to do. Glenelg beach was lovely, we spent yesterday afternoon and evening there, we were only supposed to spend the afternoon but ended up staying for the sunset (and a few chardonnays - all in prep for the Barossa Valley wine tasting tour of course!). It was pretty windy on the beach and because of this it was actally warmer in the sea! The Barossa valley tour was a real day to remember, we called in on four wineries the first being Jacobs Creek! I was so pleased as Jacobs Creek is one of my favorite wine makers! We have tasted A LOT ... read more

Good flight from Singapore to Adelaide overnight arriving at 6.30am only 6hours this time, a doddle! Nice warm weather here today its about 29 degrees going to rise to about 35 later! A very amusing driver picked me up and kept me entertained during the transfer to my Hotel He said his biggest client was the local undertaker who has 70% of the market in Adelaide I think I might have to set up an office in competition, any offers to staff it?!! I am staying at the Stamford Hotel at Glenelg right on the beach (A pallindrone for those English students amongst you!!) Interestingly the hotel group is named after the English founder of Singapore Sir Stamford Raffles I do like things following a theme........! Its right on the sandy shores of Hodfast Bay and ... read more

A few pictures from last Sunday's Walk for the cure which was organised by the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. A huge thanks to all the blog readers who donated - our team raised over $600 before the walk, which will go towards research into curing Diabetes type 1 (a disease that Dan has had since he was two). It was a lovely day - 22 degrees and bright and sunny. After doing our warm up exercises we set off for the walk - which was so pleasant and colourful along the seaside. The map of the walk is available online. If you would like to donate and you missed out earlier, the web sites stay open during October: Dan's donation web site Diana's donation web site... read more
