Hei igjen:) Vi va framme i Rockhampton ("Rocky") i sjutida loerdagskveld den 10..Biffhovedstaden i Australia:) Ei soet lita dame som kalte alle for "lovies" fra Ascot Hotel plukka oss opp paa busstasjonen..heldigvis va d bare for ei natt, litt snuskete plass.. Neste morning kl 0630 blei vi henta av en smaagretten mann(som seinare viste seg aa vaere kjempehyggeli)fra Myella Farmstay! Den morningen va vi aatte som skulle vare me til Myella, oss to, fire svenska, ei jente fra Finland og ei fra Sveits, kjempekjekke folk:) Der skulle vi tilbringe dei to neste dagane for aa faa en liten smak av "outbacken"! Myella ligge ca to tima fra kysten, naermaste nabo finne man ca 50-60 km unna..d einaste som befinne seg i mils omkrets e enorme marka og masse kveg!!!og en og anna kenguru..og cowboya:)landskapet e ... read more

Are you guys ready for a surprise? We have just realised as we sat down to write this that no one knew what we have been upto, in fact we didn't even know until the day before we went! We have just spent 3 days being Cowboys!!!!! On a real working cattle farm! We thought that it would be something completely different and it didn't disappoint. So here goes, light up the campfire, get some firewater and settle down for our yarn y'all.... We left Bundy and travelled to Rockhampton (yep, you guessed it - Rocky) with the intention of going to Great Keppal Island until we picked up a leaflet for Myella Farm Stay. hey everyone well im back with the blogs again this time from picture perfect Australia! I arrived in Rockhampton,Queensland on the 30th Dec to do some catching up with my partner in crime, Miss Bridie Kennedy , i spent the first week adjusting my pasty english body to the hot australian sun, getting eaten alive by mosquitos and mildly terrorised by the odd insect that always seems to find its way into my bed! And the rest of the time getting to know the family and seeing what Rocky has to offer! The Greyhound arrived in Rockhampton 30 minutes early, a state of affairs that would never have been witnessed on the west coast. I'd picked a hostel based on a recommendation from the staff at Airlie Beach, and it turned out to be just a little too far from the town centre for comfort. It also turned out to have bad traffic noise, and any lulls in that were filled by the snorings of an Aussie guy. One of the other new arrivals was a girl with a couple of strangely-positioned facial piercings that could have been the result of the clumsy handling of a staple-gun. Airlie Beach and The Whitsundays When I left Townsville I had planned to hire a car and visit Jourama falls etc, but as it was the school holidays hire cars were really hard to come by - apart from Avis. The laws of demand and supply being what they are prices had rocketed - and Avis being what they are they had hired a slightly creepy guy to inform me of the rocketed price - so I decided this was more than enough omens to detract me from hirecars - that and my dreadful driving. Well, this was meant to be a weekend stopover, a week and a half later and I'm still here. What the hell are you doing?? You may well ask. Well, the story is this... I arrived in Rocky and caught up with Naomi. Staying at her parents house, we had a mad, awesome extremely intoxicated weekend out, and I caught up with all my old uni buddies and work mates. Then I found out work needed/wanted/couldn't live without me. So I bowed to pressure and stayed. It wasn't what I had planned, but when the wheel of fate turns, you just got to move with it, and eventually you'll come back to the beginning of the circle. Hey All, I'm still in Rocky at this point in time. My overtime in the Outage finished a week and a half ago so I'm a free man once again! Last weekend, I got up to Mackay to catch up with the Tieri lads. I was trashed both Friday and Saturday night, saw a stripper do some cool tricks and lost a dance off to some Mackay harpies. All in all, a successful weekend. In the next few weeks, I have to gear up for the trip to Europe and the move to Cairns. I have about a million things to do and no time to do them.
