So the past few days have been so chilled and lovely. From helping Tom and Jack with their homework assignments, subjects ranging from the Pantheon in Italy to the Industrial Relations Act 1999 and how it is related to the profession of Lawyers. I surprised myself by getting interested in it and Tom and Jack were very enthusiastic about my willingness to help proof read and type up bits for them. The next night was a family game of Cluedo - Ms Peacock on the Patio with the rope - it was tense. Friday was a girly day, Kate, Emma and I went out for lunch to Cafe Diversity which is where Emma, Tom and Jack work. It was a lovely menu, in the end I opted for savoury pancakes which were glorious and even added ... read more

Well, here we are at Brisbane airport. Marcus and I are both very excited and, due to Marcus' extreme organisation, are ready for our next four-week adventure to Scandinavia! We are currently enjoying the relaxed Qantas Business Class lounge, with an hour to go to fly Qantas to Adelaide for a four hour stint, before flying to Dubai for a three hour break. Emirates then whisks us away to our first destination- Copenhagen, Denmark. We are due to arrive Saturday 17 June at 13:15.... read more

Hong Kong, the birth place of Bruce Lee and Anita Mui (called daughter of HK) and the place where high sky-scrappers touch the sky. I live in Brisbane, Australia's third largest city. Brisbane city is small and less crowded. Being in HK was therefore a different experience for me as the city is crowded and full of high rise residential buildings. I went to HK with a friend and mostly did my commute in taxis because taxi usually works out cheaper and more convenient if you can share the expenses with a co-traveller. Funny thing about taxi drivers in HK is that they keep talking on phone or watch videos on their mobile while driving which was strange for me as it is strictly prohibited in Australia. HK mainly is made of Kowloon city and HK ... read more

Brisbane, The River City. Today my plans were to go in to the City of Brisbane, the night before I arrived in the holiday park I made sure to ask the receptionist for some information regarding what to see and do in the city. I quickly realised Brisbane was not like any other city I had gone to before in Australia as in my opinion it seemed quite limited in things to see and do. Well thats the impression I got from the receptionist as she did provide me a map and showed me some things to see but nothing famous like the harbour bridge in Sydney or the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. The receptionist told me that it was quite easy to get in to the city, there was either a bus station outside ... read more

Brisbane is about 1 1/2 hour's drive from Noosa Heads and is Australia's 3rd largest area with a population of 2.3 million people. It's been well over 20 years since our last visit and I think about 1 million people lived there at the time. The changes have been dramatic and there is on going construction that's obviously fueled by continued growth. The Brisbane river runs through the city and drains into Moreton Bay to the north. The city has done a great job in developing the river front and the waterway is an efficient transportation artery. There has certainly been great thought given to infrastructure planning as the Airport, with train connections throughout Queensland, is close to the Cruise port that is connected to downtown through a well run ferry service. We were able to ... read more

Geo: -27.4676, 153.028FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3We got up early for sunrise and I went to straight deck 7. There was a straight back chair, so I could sit comfortably and do my morning devotions and cross stitch. Glenn met me and we walked up to level 8 for O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill where I normally "park" myself. We attended the 10am lecture on Sydney by Peter. Then we ate lunch at the Versailes, and got there to be one of the first to be seated. We sat at the very back. We needed to be at the 1pm presentation that they had for us "going on the back to back" cruise. It was just a formative meeting about how our luggage will be handled especially since we are changing staterooms. We started talking to some folks from Atlanta. ... read more
