Mollymook and Jervis Bay, Sunday 11th to Wednesday 14th April 2010 With our kangaroo watching complete we headed off to see our friend Lynn, who we’d organized to stay with that evening. Lynn had a summer house in Mollymook. As we drove away from Pebbly Beach we kept our eyes peeled just in case anything else decided to fly out from thin air and crush our car. We arrived at Lynn’s holiday home at 5.45pm. The house was set in a remarkable location, with a definite wow factor. It was set into the side of a hill looking down upon Mollymook Beach and the national park behind. Having been built in the 1960’s it was a traditional beach home and only a stone’s throw to the beach. We waited for Lynn’s arrival who was not far ... read more

Day One: Open water diving - it was in our pink book of things we have to do. Well since we are both over 40 the medical was severe but we passed!!! - so we winded down the coast in Peter's new blue ute ready to learn to dive. Huskinson at Jervis Bay is a beautiful village perched on the edge of where the river meets the sea. We stayed in a holiday house with our dear friends who were enjoying the local attractions. Our instructor was a serious young man from the UK who was very knowledgable and patient. We shared the class with Lisa, a keen RAAF person who was fun and committed to learning to dive. We were supposed to have completed volumes of study (well we did watch the video!!) so we ... read more

Today Rita took us down the coast to see an area called Jervis Bay, which is supposed to have the whitest sand in the world; we started off in a little fishing town called Husstleton which was really pretty overlooking Cululla Beach, a well known Dolphin and Whale watching area, we then went to a beach called Chinamans beach which was so beautiful- it was in a cove and had the clearest water and whitest sand. The sun was shining so we took a walk along there before going to an area called Green Patch which was in one of the National Parks. The land had been given back to the Aboriginies, but it was managed by the aussies because the aboroiginies like to go Walk About! It was another pretty little cove, but there was ... read more

We headed north from Ulladulla on Thursday, hoping to stay at Greenpatch in Booderee National Park. However, the camp ground was booked out over the weekend (it was expected to warm up on Saturday), so we had to look for somewhere else to stay. We rang a few places in Huskisson and Woollamia, but ended up staying at Myola Tourist Park on the northern side of the bay. We drove up through the Bay on the way to Myola, stopping at Hyams Beach, which boasts the whitest sand in the world (we've seen several others just as white!). We walked along the white sand of Chinamans Beach in nearby Jervis Bay National Park but it was still too cold to swim (at least for us). We drove through Huskisson and were glad we didn't stay here ... read more

Here are some of the pictures from Brett's sister Megan's wedding. Brett was best man for Dusty and I was maid of honour... or I guess matron of honour, but that sounds a little funny and old... After a few days of drizzly grey weather the day of the wedding managed to keep dry, with only a little drizzle just after the ceremony. But all in all the weather held so everyone was thankful for that. The wedding was beautiful and was held on one of the beaches just near the caravan park we were all staying in so we were able to walk right from there. And we all even joked that Megan was even 5 minutes early for the ceremony, and if you know Megan at all, that is quite amazing! ha ha! She ... read more

Well it's been a whirlwind couple of weeks since we left Crescent Head... The day we left the central coast of NSW, we drove through Sydney stopping at the airport to pick up Brett's sister, Megan and her boyfriend Dusty who flew in from South Korea, for their wedding over here on February 14th. They arrived on a beautiful Sydney day, to sun and blue sky and temperatures in the low 30's. Much better than the winter weather they had left in Korea! We spent the next couple days showing them a few sights around Wollongong and enjoying the hospitality again of Brett's Aunty Shell and Uncle Dennis. Think they would get sick of all these visitors all the time! Brett's parents arrived from Vancouver on the 4th and it was great to see them. Been ... read more

17th December 2008 - SCARY DRIVE & ULLADULLA FUN!!! The drive from Canberra back to the coast was the worst ever!!! The morning had been bright but once we were on the road the heavens opened and the rain lashed down so hard and so fast...only those wearing armour wouldn't have been hurt by it!!! As luck would have it, the roads were very steep declines with very tight bends down a mountain side. It was my day to drive too and after my accident where I aquaplaned on the motorway a while ago I really hate driving in the rain. Nat did offer to swap but I persevered and got through...just!!! At one point I was so clammy I looked like i'd been stood out in the rain for a while. My heart skipped a ... read more

17/12/08 = A v.v.v.v.v. rainy day Good sleep, but woke up early again...need to sort this bladder out! Had another lovely shower (that's 3 in 2 days...body in shock), then headed off to library. Library was really good and were on for ages. Asked about nearest supermarket and then started journey out of Canberra. Had to ring garage first and check about service, because already overdue now done nearly 7000kms, but thankfully they said we could leave until arrived in Sydney - not long now! Then went to garage to re-stock petrol. Petrol man took one look at me in my shorts and vest and said "You know it's going to rain today....ehhh...really heavy rain". Said I'd heard that and skulked out. As set off on journey, realised just how right he was. Absolutely threw it ... read more
