Hey everyone, Thought I'd send out an update. A couple of weeks ago I got to work at the University games which was an event that just happened to come to Coffs this year in OZ. It was a bunch of uni students from sydney area up here to compete in a variety of sports and go out and cause havoc in the town. Anyway, I got to work in the med tent as a physio for the whole week seeing heaps of injuries and doing lots of strappings. It was a great experience for me, I met a few med student's living here, and went and had some fun at night with the athletes. The weekend before these games I went down unda scuba diving out at solitary islands marine park. It was unbelievable and ... read more

How are ya mates, been a couple weeks and I thought I'd let ya know what's going on. I've been getting busier in the clinic lately so time has just been flying these last couple weeks. Work is good, I'm just trying to take it all in which is overwhelming at times and other times it's really rewarding. This last weekend was a surf weekend, so I don't have any good pics, just stories. I surfed two beaches on saturday, in the morning I was at park beach which is just south of Macaulies where I usually surf with the Mackie's. It's basically straight down to the beach from where I'm staying. The waves were massive, I'm talking like nearly three times my height! Needless to say I was paddling for waves but I wasn't paddling ... read more

Yalreet. We've been in Coffs Harbour since 1st June. We've been staying at a hostel called Aussitel and it is possibly the best hostel we've stayed in so far (only Cool Bananas in 1770 comes close). The staff here have made us feel very welcome and as with most smaller hostels there is a family home from home feel to the place. Our initial ideas for Coffs was to chill out a bit before we hit the big city of Sydney, and though we have had a lot of chill out time our days have been pretty action packed. On our first full day here we took out two canoes (free of charge) and went for a bit of a row row row your boat gently down the stream- Me and Will were in a boat ... read more

Hello and welcome to the latest enstalment of Jonnys Ozzy Adventures!!! The last time I left you i was sun bathing it up at Surfers Paradise. I forgot to add there that I won the inaugural game of crazy golf at King Tut's Putt Putt and also ate far too many kebabs!! From Surfers we headed South to Byron/Bryan Bay. This place was utterly stunning and perhaps my favourite of all the surfey towns we have been to down the East Coast. Its so beautiful as it does not have any sky scrapers encroaching its stupendous views, but its just an old fashioned styley town of surf and sun. It has a very hippy feel to it also, with everyone completely chilled out (other than a local Byron nobhead who wanted to start a fight with ... read more

G'day mates, Just finished my second week of work in coff's and all is well. I went up to moonee beach yesterday which is 12k north from here and did some exploring and wanted to throw some pics out for everyone. I went surfing a couple times this last week and am slowly getting better (key word-slowly). I'm seeing about four patients a day now and still enjoying my time in the clinic. Last night I went to see DJ kid kenobi at the local pub, he's supposed to be the best dj in australia. I wasn't too impressed, good if you like being at a rave i guess( it was all break beats and techno). Next week Grandmaster flash is coming through, so I'm gonna go check that out (three day weekend as well, woohoo!). ... read more

Hey guys! So YES its been a while since I have updated this thing, but its so easy to get side tracked when you are surrounded by rain forests and beautiful beaches :). So what I’m going to do is just do a blog for each city I went to :) here it goes... So it started off with me not wanting to travel alone and finding a girl on the internet from P.E.I. she also didn’t want to travel alone so we phoned each other and the next day she was on a bus to Canberra. We left two days after that to our first stop of Sydney... now I had already been to Sydney on many occasions so we just stopped there for the day and she saw the Oprah house and Sydney Harbour ... read more

Hope everything is well back home. I'm just finishing my first week here in coff's harbor. It's a fun little town, i'm about a twenty minute walk away from work and the same amount of time on a bike will get me to the water. I've learned a ton in my first week in the clinic and i'm starting to get my own patient load slowly. The family I'm living with is great. There's always something going on with five boys in their family and a japanese exchange student as well. I'm starting surfing with the father garth and his oldest son callum wednesday through saturday before I go to work (which isn't a bad way to start off the day). Last night I went to the plantation hotel to watch one of the biggest footy ... read more

how are ya mates? It's all good out here. I've just finished a five day surf trip from sydney up to byron bay which was a blast. We had a group of twenty-five, again, mostly english. We surfed every day two of which we surfed almost all day, man it was tiring. I did pretty well and ended up winning a free trip for being the charger of the group all week. I just came back down from byron yesterday after a celebration and saying good bye's to everybody which was tough (we were just starting to get close too). Unfortunately everybody is heading north to cairns and moving on from there in the next month or so. I start my internship tomorrow and look forward to being stationary for a bit. I unpacked my ... read more

hey all, we have been staying in Coffs Harbour for 2 days, leaving today - which we both are very excited about! There is absolutely nothign to see or do, and we are in some kind of local yocal red neck motel - we spoke to a guy in town yesterday whose words were when we told him where we were staying were "be very careful there!" Reassuring. THe place consits of a motel, bar and betting shop all in one, oh and a drive through bottle store! Ahhh. They do do very good cheap food though. Again, we are literally the only ones staying here! We have spent last 2 days cycling around the small town/village and lookign for some jumpers for further south and New Zealand. I bet you were thinking what the big ... read more

Friday May 5. Once again ordered off the streets of my country by security threatening fine for ' unauthorised street trading'. So much for freedom of speech. I'm supposed to go to the council and pay for a permit. That I will not do. A day of mixed fortune because although I was also told to furl the flag at the Coffs Harbour Hotel, many stickers went out. A kid who gave me an apple strudel for a sticker at a bakery was at a beach and proudly showed me the sticker on his car. Saturday. A small bird, all black. Small bird, red ass, white neck and a crest like some roman soldier's helment. Bunches of rainbow lorikeets. Small birds with rippling stripes of brown and white down their breasts. A grey bird with a ... read more
