We got to Canberra at 5am after our first trip on The Greyhound Bus (a hop-on, hop-off bus that runs 24 hours). In the interest of saving money we'd decided to take the night bus to save on a night's accomodation. Unfortunately, we hadn't been prepared for the air conditioning to be blowing full-strength all night and froze the entire way (we were in shorts and had no warm jumpers with us on the bus). We, therefore, didn't get much sleep. Hopefully we can blame this for what happened next. When we were in Melbourne we bought a really cheap second-hand Australia Lonely Planet, again in the interest of saving money. It was five years old but we didn't think this would be a problem. When we got to Canberra we consulted said guide book for ... read more

Hey everybody! I just got back from my weekend surf trip in Sydney and it was unreal! At first i was pretty nervous about getting into the ocean with the whole shark business and what not, especially after one of the surf leaders told us that a record breaking tiger shark was caught in the bay :S, but they assured us that it was a freak occurance and we were perfectly safe. We got to the camp on friday night, there was a group of 9 of us from the university including me and liv. We had the night to chill out and explore the facilities, so we made our way down to the beach for a bon fire. the stars there were spectacular, i think we saw about 4 shooting stars in 20 minutes! Dear All, After 3months and 1 week my time is the farm is over. I made it!! Very happy about it, met great people, learned how to roll cigarettes (I know smoking is bad but I smoke less cus sometimes I just can’t be bothered Rolling) and enjoy the peace and quiet of the place. But one thing is sure: I will not eat tomatoes before a long time, I know everything about all the sizes of tomatoes and I may even sort them by size in the supermarket: small- small medium, medium, large medium and large, semis, red or sauce tomatoes have no secrets for me anymore. My last night was cool, had a nice barbecue with Louise, Hannah, Cesare, Akari (aka Sausage long story but her nickname is something about what she doesn't have ... read more

Not a lot to show for two days in Canberra but naturally they do no allow cameras in the art galleries and exhibitions, it would be a bit like taking a banjo along to the Royal Albert Hall. The following are mainly of the Australian Museum, this is meant to be a fun place designed for families to have a great time. I think the Architect(s) has done a really good job, see what you think. We arrived quite early but later in the day there would be many families and lots of children running around this outdoor area having a great time. img=http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y223/NigelWaring/Mis... read more

Welcome to our Blog. I know, I know, a blog is soooo 2005 but we needed to catch up at some point. Plus we can store our photos on here and it will prevent us from sending you boring emails crapping on about how nice this place is and how we wish you were here blah blah... Instead, it will all be here when you need it...visit as often or as little as you please. I do recommend you stop in a few times to suss it out though, otherwise we'll be converting our photos into a six hour powerpoint presentation and you will be thrown in the boot of a Renault, delivered to an isolated warehouse and forced to watch the whole thing on a 18 foot projector screen without a toilet break. And we ... read more

A few of the best - Tyler's a good photographer! I had the camera for the first two spots and Tyler took it on his last dive! Well that's all folks - just a sample with more to share when we get home. We've taken today off to rest and recup. Our next stop tomorrow is Brisbane and the Wild Dolphin Resort and then to the Australia zoo. We thought about heading out for the beach and having Tyler do more surfing but it turns out there are no refunds for cancelling events! So we are staying with the original plan! Love to you all - I think Tyler is ready to be home...misses everyone!... read more

Happy Easter everybody! and to Laura, Katherine, Mike, and PK, happy bday guys, i miss u all very much... and i hope all of you had a fantastic big 2-1 (legal everywhere woooo). This weekend was absolutely fantastic! The owners of the bar that Olivia and my other 2 friends work at had a bunch of us up to their beach house on the coast. It was only about a 2 hour drive, so not too bad. Aaaaand because they own a bar/restaurant we got discounted liquor, and lots of it, and they fed us for free. It was nice to spend easter with a big group and a family... very good vibe. When we first got to the house, we walked into this huge room with mattresses set up everywhere, and everybody had a big ... read more
