Well this post is mainly to put up some cool forest pics. I finally got out of town after being back home for a month--Trevor's brother has been working on an eco-village near Vancouver and we went to pick him up and bring him down to California. We ended up driving about 1000 miles in four days. Anyway these pics are from the mountain next to the eco-village, the rest are from the Tall Ships festival here in Tacoma. Enjoy!... read more

Road Trip!! Okay, so I rented my first car in a foreign country. Rentals driving to Sun Peaks don't count because I've driven the Coquihalla countless times in Casper and then Oz. They gave me a staff discount at the rental place because I work for the hotel but being the big chicken I am, I bought insurance which doubled the cost anyways. I was a little bit nervous because a) I didn't know the road and b) I'd been watching the news about some major wildfires in the area. Once I got on the highway, it was all good. I made a mental note of a couple of areas that I wanted to stop at on the way back (Outlet shopping!). My first stop was at "Montezuma's Castle". It's not really a castle but a ... read more

Hummm....I was going to put down some profound thoughts, but changed my mind yet again. I will say one thing about what I've discovered about travelling for a extended period of time. It's not always the cure or a solution for issues surrounding commitment. Commitment to what? Well, to anything or anyone for that matter. It is a great way to instigate more thoughts about where to go next though.... I've spent the last couple of days just reviewing picture upon picture on some 15 CDs spanning the last year of my life and all I have are these pictures and some words to accompany them. A couple of them I've managed to stitch together. For those of you whom I've met along the way, I promise your pictures will be coming your way sometime in ... read more

Te extrano mucho a todo mi amigos y nos vemos otra vez pronto, lo juro! ya yo se que no puedo escriber en espanol. Kat got a new job for a computer supplies company which she really enjoys so that was great. Was sad to leave life in Costa Rica after 9 weeks but I think it was time to move on. Caught the bus to San Jose then met Annick in mall San Pedro with her friend Wendy. Spent my last ... read more

Today I left San Francisco and jumped on the Green Tortoise bus. Jen Nelson and Eoin dropped me off. I knew I was in trouble when a group of rowdy Irish men arrived. I just can't get away from them :) We started off by meeting everyone on the trip and picking buddies. I quickly realized I was one of only 3 Americans and one of 6 people over the age of 21, which made for quite an interesting ride. There were about 22 people on the trip all together. We spent the first night traveling through the night. We first performed the "miracle," the conversion of the seats on the bus into beds. I stayed up much of the night getting to know the people on the bus and learning how to play the Aussie ... read more

North America » United States » Utah » Salt Lake City June 24th 2005

Well, Salt Lake City is the weirdest place I have ever been... Where are all the people, the town was deserted apart from the Mormons trying to haul us into there massive church. Which they did manage, I must admit I was really curious as to what the deal was with them. A couple of ladies took us around, one was from Brazil and the other from China, they both spoke to us like robots, there script was so well rehearsed it was so blatently obvious. They took us into the Church and showed us there massive statue of Jesus that started speaking to us in this American accent... Then they took us to this other room and showed us their living apostles and prophet! They were all white men either from the sates or from ... read more
