Yesterday I graduated from college! I had lunch with my mother and father and godmother. I had dinner with dad and Jenifer. I had a really nice day. Went back to Doc Watson's which I haven't been inside of since St. Patrick's day of 2005! Lots of changes yesterday. Tomorrow I move out of the apartment building that has been my home for the last three years. I'm leaving most of the best friends I have ever had. I couldn't be more excited and more scared. ... read more

The day after tomorrow I will officially be a college graduate. I will be a proud owner of a diploma from the University of the Arts BFA Acting program...........so now what?I have been a student for as long as I can remember and more or less my life has been structured around my education. I have grown so much in this city, and although I hope to return, it's not my home. I'm not 100% sure where that is. I will miss seeing all faces that have become so firmilar over the last four years. I will miss the friends I have made, and miss the ease at which college allows you to meet people. I think I'll miss the structure. At least I know how to do well within the stucture- This last week has ... read more

So I've decided that I'm going to spend this summer exploring the rest of the world (or as far as my railroad employee pass will take me). I'll have to look up the Phillies away schedule to see when they're playing in New York and DC. I might even plan a trip up to Boston to catch a Red Sox game since they're nice enough to come down here and play an interleague series with us. Also, I'm going to start visiting places around Philadelphia more often so travelers have an idea of what they should see when they come here. Museums, landmarks, concert halls, stuff like that. Hopefully that will start generating more interest in this city and people will look at us more than NYC's older but smaller brother that still finds ways to ... read more

As I reported in my last entry, I had bought my ticket and my rail pass, then I get this email from PwC. They're having me now start in July! Total chaos! I'm now leaving on May 12th (the day after my graduation!) and returning on July 16th because I didn't have the heart to get rid of any big cities. Wish me luck for smooth sailing in the next few days because I leave on Monday. Yes, this Monday! In 4 days! I called my Aunts in Sligo and Manchester today. They could barely understand my accent? Guess I'm going to have to start getting used to that. I'll be the foreigner for the first time in my life! Since I moved my schedule forward a week, I didn't need to cut as much out ... read more

Only 9 more days until beverly and i leave for Europe... Can not tell you how excited I am.. everyday beverly and i are calling each other just to make sure we dont forget anything, or we are giving each other ideas on what to do and see .... Sooooooo surreal... Anyways... only changes in itinerary are that we are no longer staying on the ship in Amsterdam, instead we are staying at a hotel right in the center of the city which should be good in order to get to all the places in a short amount of time everyday... Paris changes are only that we will be takin a seine river cruise/dinner and a show at the moulin rouge one night... Barcelona, we are stayin in our own apartment... and will be tking a ... read more

Looking back on the past 3 weeks has made me feel like I've been on a trial run of The Amazing Race, but without the stress. We went to 11 cities (Paris, Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Milan, Florence, Venice, Pisa, Rome, Naples, Pompeii) and 2 countries (France, Italy), covering quite a distance! While the trains and metros were easy to navigate, we still had to stay on the ball in terms of making sure that we got through each city without a hitch. Thank goodness for my wonderful compass and nifty highligher! In terms of food, I still think that what we can get in the United States is at least comparable or even better. I can no longer look at baguettes, paninis, crepes, pizza, or pasta the same way. And Im swearing off carbs for the ... read more

Make myself available to enjoy cultural activities in the tri-states area. April weather is nice and why not joining others to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival activities being offered every year here in the city of Philadelphia. Philadelphia is home to some 2000 Japanese cherry trees (sakura), half of which were a gift from the Japanese government in 1926 in honor of the 150th anniversary of American independence, with the other half planted by the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia between 1998 and 2007. Within Fairmount Park in Philadelphia and along the Schuylkill river, in late March early April, it is a good time to take a stroll and enjoy the beauty of the flower. In this year' event, on Monday, in the early evening, the second day of 2-weeks long event, taiko drum ... read more

Today was a chilly and cloudy day. The snow was still covering the grass and the kids love it. The tour took us to Independence Square. This is the place where the US was born, In this building the delegates of the thirteen colonies met in the Assembly Hall to sign the Declaration of Independence and later the Constitution of the United States. As a result, the Second Continental Congress named Banjamin Frankyn ambassador and sent him to France in order to get support for the upcoming war. In the adjacent building, Old City Hall, the US Supreme court met from 1791 to 1800. The first US Congress also met in the adjacent Congress Hall from 1790 to 1800. In front of the Independence Square is the Decalration House. In this house Thomas Jefferson drafted the ... read more

Here iam ...One More time! First weekend, on my 4th visit to US.Where to go, was the question in my mind, when my visit was confirmed 2 weeks back. I clearly had 2options. one Phili and second Atlantic City. I shared my plans with Lawrence immediatly on arrival. he was ok with both. So then we decided to make some homework from our apartments. We had 1 day in our hands. After making calls to SEPTA & Greyhound, we freezed on Phili. Reason - We didnt had good bus schedules for Atlantic City. We booked the cab saturday morning & quickly went to sleep. Next morning I got up a little late. The bus was scheduled at 1.20 from Wilmington. We had some good breakfast & reach Wilmington at around 12 noon. SEPTA was closed due to ... read more
