Okay so I took everybody's advice and created this travel blog. Hopefully it will provide a good method for me to keep in touch with all my friends back in the States while I'm traveling about. In general here's my plan for my trip. June 2nd-Leave to Bangalore, India Do a year worth of school in Bangalore and travel whenever possible When school ends spend a months traveling about inside India before meeting another class in northern India to explore religion. Once that class is done I fly to Europe to spend some time in Amsterdam before coming back home. That's my plan, we'll see if it works.... read more

Most of you know just from reading this blog that I'm a romantic - everything in my life is oozed over. I'm no neutral gal - everything's amazing or awful. People or places are polarised by my imagination. But usually they're sent towards the positive - even if they don't deserve it! Well, New Mexico deserves it. I fell in love at first sight. Exhausted as I was from flying here via Chicago, landing at sunset, seeing the red sky over the desert and the Sandia Mountains (means "watermelon" as it reflects red so much), I was simply dumb-struck. Beauty beyond belief. There has been a lot of that on this trip - in terms of buildings, art, people's kindness, smiles. I am aware of it - all the incredible sights I've seen - but I ... read more

It is the first day of our winter vacation. We hung out in the Old Town, ate at Julia's (New Mexico cuisine, featured on the Food Network some years ago), bought up a bunch of nice stuff like jewelry and some art and are now at the University of New Mexico "Flying Star", a really nice restaurant/news stand/wireless hotspot/bar....It is COLD!!!! But, who cares, we are having fun!... read more

After several failed attempts to connect with people back home, and because of our inneptness with email, we are now trying this travel blog. So here you have it -- our travel retrospective!!! Yes, it all started on August 1, when Theresa and the boys left Albuquerque with a very full car bound for Denver, Colorado to visit our dear friends, Chris and Shannon and Sean and Kelsey. We all had a great time. The boys' favorite part was Pirate's Cove. After a few wonderful days of relaxation and pampering, we headed to Tucson, Arizona, stopping for a quick overnight back in Albuquerque to say goodbye to our dog, Stella, just one more time, and to wish Maggie a happy birthday! We were in Tucson, for not even 12 hours, but it was just enough time ... read more

Sandia Crest is located near Albuquerque, the capital of New Mexico. David, Diana, and I took the world's longest tramway to the top of Sandia. From the pictures, it's not hard to see that there are almost 1/2 miles of unsupported cable along the tramway. The sunset on the mountain is so magnificant that I couldn't stop clicking my camera. Enjoy the photos!... read more

Haven't been able to get on for a couple of days so EVERYBODY JUST RELAX! I am fine. Sitting in the Giorgi's very fine house in New Mexico. Again, thunderstorms abound. It's been a very exciting couple of days. After leaving Brownwood I had a very nice trip to Plainview, Texas. I was met at the airport by Marlin Miller, the owner of Miller Flying Service. Tied down the plane and mingled a bit with some of the other Bellanca owners. Tim Harding flew by in his Thrush, a BIG agricultural plane. right past us at about 15 feet AGL(above ground level). Very cool. After a bit I got a ride into town with Frank Holbert and Ron Quillen. They are from the SoCal area. Nice guys. Got a room in the Best Western. After settling ... read more

Our third day in Albuquerque was really fun. My mom, Aunt, and I took the kids to the coolest botanical garden I think I have ever been to. Great size and great stuff that was interactive and fun. Who wouldn’t like a mini railroad, a butterfly garden, a huge glass atrium, an active heritage farm, and the best was a fantasy garden where all the bugs and plants were life sized with mazes, tunnels, slides, and walking through a giant pumpkin. Then we were next door for the Aquarium which was another great stop and perfectly sized for a nice quick visit. While we were occupied, the guys (that would be Ed, my Dad, and my Uncle) were mountain biking along the Rio Grande (which is flat mountain biking but a lot of fun). We all ... read more

We pulled into Albuquerque late at night. When we woke up at the American RV Park we were very pleasantly surprised. It is a really nice place with grass and trees (almost unheard of in this neck of the not woods) and has great facilities (pool, playground, flat roads for lots of kid biking, and a continental breakfast every morning). The kids and I enjoyed the pool and the not driving in the am and then the family went up to the top of the Sandia peaks on the Sandia tramway. This was one cool trip. The tram is the longest in the US. We started the trip at 6,500 ft and ended it at 11,000 ft. It was much cooler on top and really comfortable. After wandering around and enjoying the views the kids decided ... read more

Hi All Well it has been a while since the last blog. We have had a few enquiries as to where we are. I don’t know how the time goes so fast. I think “oh it’s to soon to do another one yet” and then before we know it, we have been everywhere and have so much to tell, Well, here we go……….. Guess what? We didn’t quite make it out of Mexico for Easter after all. Our last stop in Mexico was to be at San Carlos for a night or two. Graeme was desperate to return there as we knew we could get the rig washed and polished for the very reasonable price of 300 peso. We had waited to have this done until we knew that the end of the Mexican dust bath ... read more
