I bought some travelers checks and ran some last-minute errands today for the trip. I photocopied my passport, vaccination record, and driver's license in case they become necessary. I also picked up a padlock, umbrella, a compass, a Spanish-English dictionary, and a couple of fiction paperbacks. All that remains to be done is to get everything packed up. My flight leaves tomorrow at 7:30 am, so I'm heading to bed early tonight. At this time tomorrow, I'll be in Isla Mujeres, Mexico at the Poc-Na hostel.... read more

Preliminaries I leave for my Central American excursion on Tuesday. I am going to spend today getting some last-minute supplies for my trip. Yesterday, while picking up some supplies at Quest Outdoors in Louisville, I talked for awhile with a guy that worked at the place about his recent trip to Belize and Guatemala. He gave me a lot of good advice on where to go and he is really making me look forward to this trip even more. Today there was an article in the Courier-Journal about one of the writers' trips to Guatemala. He described some of the sites that I will be seeing. I sent him an email asking his opinion of the crime situation in the country and asked him about restaurants and accomodations. ... read more

Finally we are on our way west again... this time just the two of us. It was a beautiful spring day in New York, and we had clear skies through the short stretch of PA on I-90 and the eastern half of Ohio. Further west, gray skies and eventually rain by the time we got to Indiana. We've stopped for the night near Elkhart. There are about 20 motels at this exit, and they all seem to be full or nearly so... we had to take a smoking room. I wonder why so many people spend the night here. ... read more

Some people are ahead of the fashion curve. Other folks can set new trends in music. I am here to tell you that, decades ago, I was into the whaler, BK big-fish and filet-o-fish WAY before America decided to promote this new double filet sandwhich. Everywhere I turn, on every interstate, state road, highway, service road, business road, there looms a billboard promoting the sandwhich I made famous. Ofcourse, I'm willing to bet it's middle America's response to the Lent season. Hey, christian truck drivers gotta have friday options, right? Speaking of restaurants, Sarah and I are beating any cravings we might've had at the beginning of the trip into the GROUND. Cracker Barrel: over it. Arby's: over it. Subway: over it. Food: over it! These days I'm more than happy to get the nutrition thing ... read more

What fun we had! We did a show in Milwaukee Wisconsin and then began our adventure of a 3 day weekend. The school was fantastic. It was called the Milwaukee School of Science, but they didn’t know what a theory was (?). The teacher was great and guided us straight to the Miller Brewing Company. Although it was payday, you have to keep in mind that we are still ACTORS. We really didn’t want to pay to take a tour. However it was our lucky day. The tour was free, AND you got 3 glasses of free beer at the end. Woo Hoo! They showed us the bottling and distribution buildings, then on to the brewery. It was sick. We left town at noon and headed for our weekend destination…..Chicago. Oh my…As did our entry to ... read more

So I drove to Crawdfordsville, Indiana to visit Ropkey Armor Museum. The museum is real hard to find for it is out in the middle of no where. The museum is locate on a farm and has about 20 tanks there but this is only part of the Fred Ropkey's he owns over a 100 tanks and 4 airplanes. Some of his tanks have been used in films like The Siege, Mars Attacks, and Tank. I mainly went for Indiana Outdoors, a TV show where I am a producer. I never thought that something like this museum would be in Indiana. ... read more

OMG, flashback. When arrived at Fort Wayne IndiaNA airport "James" had already lost his new camera on the plane. This flashed him back to the camera he had lost in Guatemala. But before Guate, he lost his eyeglasses in the Houston airport. And before India, lost his eyeglasses in the L.A. airport. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE NOW? This is a useful question for all occassions, eh? Cameras, glasses. He just keeps losing expensive visual aids before new adventures. What's going on here, "James"? The Fort Wayne airport is small. Bodywork with the Buffalo was north of Fort Wayne at Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve in Fremont, IndiaNA, just south of the Michigan border. There were 6 client/patients and about 18 therapeutic facilitators, each with skills and talents in many different modalities, or bodywork approaches, but the ... read more

Okay, try to say all of this in one sentence. Off now to work CranioSacral Therapy and with Buffalo with "Integrative Intentions," team leader Dr. Chas Perry, senior of the Upledger Institute in Palm Beach Gardens :) His primary assistant will be the lovely Kat Cramblet. If I get any photos will put some up here. There will be patients flying in from as far as Iceland. (Don't think I'll call the West Palm Beach cab tonight, like I did before Guatemala. Think I'll wait till the early morning to call) We will be doing multiple therapist sessions on each of the patients, and around the Buffalo. We will also be working on horses, that is, doing craniosacral therapy on horses. "James" has no idea what to expect. He isn't sure of the exact location of ... read more

Well, I am leaving for Rome in less than 3 weeks. I am getting really excited and a bit nervous in a good way, b/c I don't know what to expect day to day yet. There are over 100 other kids on my program, and I don't know any of them, so I'm excited to meet lots of new people from all over. I have been practicing learning Italian with CDs, and am trying to begin thinking of what I need to pack. I feel so lucky b/c I know this is going to be an incredible, life-changing experience!... read more
