My buddy
Oh Milwaukee What fun we had! We did a show in Milwaukee Wisconsin and then began our adventure of a 3 day weekend. The school was fantastic. It was called the Milwaukee School of Science, but they didn’t know what a theory was (?). The teacher was great and guided us straight to the Miller Brewing Company. Although it was payday, you have to keep in mind that we are still ACTORS. We really didn’t want to pay to take a tour. However it was our lucky day. The tour was free, AND you got 3 glasses of free beer at the end. Woo Hoo! They showed us the bottling and distribution buildings, then on to the brewery. It was sick. We left town at noon and headed for our weekend destination…..Chicago.
Oh my…As did our entry to Madison, I was pissed off when we drove around town for 2 hours looking for a place to stay within budget. We stopped at Starbucks and used their internet access and found a place about 15 miles outside of downtown. We also researched the gay part of town….conveniently titled Boystown. Sounded perfect….for Markuz. We arrived at our hotel room at about 10pm with plans

Away it goes, to you to eat and go out. The second we sat down on the beds, we fell asleep. I woke up at midnight and put on my pajamas and continued the path I was on…sleeping. We woke up at about 830am (the pattern cannot be broken), and were prepared to look for a closer place and make plans. We found out it was the day for Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Yay Drunk Irish people. Let down after no search results, we decided to stay at our hotel another night. We found a nearby train station and a map, and were off to be adventure kids.
We parked for $3, and got $5 all day passes. We knew that we were headed downtown, but not quite sure what was going on. Then....the drunkards entered the train. We basically followed them to the parade route. It was fun, and I guess the closest I can get to Mardi Gras this year. However, you can't really enjoy a parade without lots of good friends and an ice chest full of bud light. So we left....We ran into Cloud Gate. a crazy monument thing that is in our Road trip book. Took lots of

At Milwaukee School of Science pictures and watched the ice skaters, then it was lunch time. We had to eat Irish, so we found a Benigans. That's is where we found a CRAZY Chicago law. Each of us ordered a green beer. They ran out, so we only go one and two regular ones for the same price. Five minutes later, the server came back to the table and expained that she had to remove one beer because it is against the law to have more beers that people at one table! Whatever.
We left Benigan's, got some coffee and were off to the Theatre District. We were told of a few to check out. Wicked was playing, but of course we can't afford it, so we entered a raffle for $25 tickets. Of course we lost, and found the Chicago Reader. We called about 10 theatres that looked interesting and they were either sold out or too expensive. Finally we found the Last Five Years....so excited. It was playing at 2 locations, but the closer one was sold out. So we were on a journey....back on the train. We got off the train and had to walk a mile through suburbia, until we
Public transportation
First time on the train found the world's smallest theatre and worst performance...EVER. It was the last preview so we only paid $10, luckily. We tried to think of the positive things, but we stepped outside and it was raining. We walked our wet asses a mile in the rain to the train, and off to Boystown. We needed a drink.
We got off the train, walked to the neighborhood with the rainbow steeples and followed a guy with a man purse.... always a good sign your headed for a gay bar. We found ROSCOE's. Amazing. Bar, club, outside patio....and choc full of gay...MEN! Well, we stayed until about 1am and had a blast. Made a few friends, asked where the girls and burritos were, and left. The so-called lesbian bar had 4 inside, and the rest men. We met a few people in Law school. It was so great to tell them that we were actors.....I mean really, Law school. Whatever.
We left that horrible place, and straight for burritos. YUM, a little taste of Mexico. And comparitavely, not that bad. Back to the train. Disaster. We thought that we were headed in the right direction...wrong. And, it was the last train.
Cloud Gate
Kisses for all of you Its not fun to run around the train stations in a strange town at 4 am after 2 doubles and a burrito. But we made it home...Lovely.
Up by 10 to check out at 11, we were headed for St. Louis to visit my brother. I hadn't seen him in 2 years since Mark's funeral, and then it was 2 years before that. We arrived at 4, and it was so exciting to see him. Seeing family kind of reminds you of who are and where you've come from. (Mom, I'm coming home soon, I promise)
We went to the casino and had buffet......Yummy.... Then on a little bit of an adventure. Looking for a movie, first at the theatre, then a red box, until we arrived at old faithful, Blockbuster. Rented the Aristocrats...hilarious... and went to BED!
Woke at 8am, cleaned up, did a few things online and left to find a laudromat (Mike gave me directions to a few closed places, but we eventually found it). Did laundry, had lunch and went to the Gateway Arch. Another visit to an American Monument. It was gorgeous again.
And that leads me to now. We took
our tour buddies advice, and got a cheep room $7 under budget here....in Evansville Indiana. Our school is about 30 minutes from here with no hotels and obviously no internet.
Well, thanks for reading all the way to the end.....more to come
Wishing I had minis of all of you in my purse
Always...adoring you
