Tuesday 8th July 2014 Today our destination was to a hotel near Titusville which is close to the Kennedy Space Centre which we intend to visit tomorrow. We left the motel at 0830hrs just grabbing a coffee and a little bit to eat as we are stopping at Cracker Barrels, just down the road, as Victor and Helen enjoy the breakfasts there. This was true to form, with huge helpings, we being smart this time and sharing a plate of fried egg, bacon, ham & sausage, plus fried spuds, toast, grits and stewed apples plus unlimited coffee, all for $15 including a good tip. Enough protein to keep us going until this evening. But I think Judy enjoyed the attached shop which had all sorts of knick knacks as much as, if not more than, the ... read more

(Titusville, Florida) We left Miami on Wednesday, and plan to arrive in Keystone Heights on Saturday. We spent the interim at Titusville, just across the river from Kennedy Space Center, in Titusville. We were on our way to Kennedy Space Center, with a quick stop at Merritt Island, which is a wildlife preserve just off the KSC property. We didn’t think we’d want to spend much time there, but we were wrong, and several hours later we decided KSC would be a trip for the next day. Merritt Island is open to the public except during launch days. They’ve developed trails that explain the different plants, which is something we haven’t had (or taken) the time to study. We also watched birds and water animals, but mostly plants. The whole time we’ve been here we’ve never ... read more

Well I think that Coral and I threw a successful bash. If you missed it, I'm sorry, but for those of you that did come it was great to see everyone before I leave. I've met some wonderful new people that I wish I was able to know longer. Both Angela and James wrote me the sweetest letters, that really meant more to me than anything that they could have bought, see I'm easy to please. But I did get some pretty nifty gifts. My father bought me a new camera! No more dead batteries every ten minutes, Mrs. McCord gave me her best tea cup, and Cybill got me some ice cube trays. I thought that was the cutest thing because they don't believe in ice in Europe. Although I appreciate all of these gifts ... read more

The sun came out today. And if I didn't see it for myself I would still have to believe it because everyone has changed the facebook statuses to say so. (I really wish this web site had a spell check) Today I met Coral to finalise the plans on a little get together we are having before we leave. Invitation is pretty open so if you haven't heard anything and you are keen on coming, give me a call and I'll give you the details. Speaking of phones many people have asked me how I plan on handling the phone situation in England. I will be getting a new mobile phone there, but it most likely won't have any international capabilities. But I will be able to call people from the phone at the study centre ... read more

So I had a tiny scare yesterday, I read that british airways only allows one checked baggage per passenger. But after near hyperventilation I scrolled down and read that passangers flying to and from the USA are allowed two pieces of baggage. (51 lbs. each). I haven't started packing yet, but that is today's goal. I'll do the essentials and school supplies, but I will save packing my clothes untill it gets a little closer. But then again, I might just pack the whole shebang today, I mean, I've got nothing else to do because I am stuck in the house while "Fay" decides to stick around for a bit. For those of you that don't know that is the tropical storm that is being more than unwelcomed in Florida. It has been raining for three ... read more

Hello family and friends, I'm not sure exactly how many of you are going to read this regularly, if at all, but humour me and at least pretend :). I'm also not sure how much time I will have to update this but I will sure try my darndest. I wish I could be like Elinor Roosevelt and publish everyday of my life for some forty years, but Elinor wasn't taking six classes, with homework, and trying to work 20 hours a week, not to mention squeezing in every adventure possible, and maybe even some time for Chris. Forget being first lady and human rights activist, that's easy stuff. I will also try and post pictures here, but this all depends on my technological abilities. I'm new to this site but I just assume that people ... read more

Now this marks the first time I've seen her in over a year. So I was very excited. She was at the Lord's Boot Camp training to do missionary work in Sicily, Italy. Yes, in Europe. Exciting eh? I took many pictures and after she stole my camera, so did she. :-D Her teammates were really amazing and there were many beautiful boys that I felt badly for checking out because it was indeed Christian. Okay, I didn't feel that badly. But it was really fun. I got to see what she'd done and who she'd been with. Apparently she is very popular 'cause everyone kept calling her name! She'd told people about me and was apparently uber disappointed when I didn't 'show' on Saturday. Isn't she super cute? :-D And she says she has no ... read more
