Since today (sunday) is our only day off this week the team got together and had a little fun last night. If anyone has spent any time around mens volleyball players they probably know that we like to have fun and we can be a little strange and are definetly dorky at times. having said that, nothing is more fun than a night of dress up so thats what we did. the only rules were you had to have a partner and each of you had to dress up with some sort of theme. Enjoy!!... read more

Now that i am aclimated and my legs dont feel like cement any more i have a little more energy to do some writting. i figure some of you wouldnt mind knowing how a typical day goes out here so i will do my best to paint you a little picture. I usually wake up at about 6 o'clock in the morning because i dont trust that my alarm clock will go off at the pre-set time of 7AM. i then fall in and out of sleep waking each time with a jolt because im afraid that i slept through practice. when my alarm finaly does go off im forced to get up right away because i lack the necessity of a snooze button. having gotten used to hitting snooze 4 or 5 times before i ... read more

So i am officialy done with the first two days of practice. Im doing ok but passing and serving up here is pretty tough. almost everyone is having trouble with that though so i dont feel to bad. the schedule they have us on for the next few weeks is pretty hard so ice and stretching are going to be key for anyone who wants to make it without injury. my back is feeling surprisingly well so i think as long as i stay loose and keep doing my therapy everyday, i will be ready to go for Switzerland. The facilities here are pretty amazing. we can eat in the cafateria as much as we want and they even have a soft serve machine which i have already had my fair share of. i thought comming ... read more
My room for the next two weeks

I spent my last night in California with sister Birka and friend Jeff. We went to a local dive where i preceeded to beat Jeff at a game of pool. Immediately after my victory gloat i got crushed by a girl who was probably to drunk to have any idea how badly she embarassed me. That was pretty much the hightlight of my last night in California after which i got about 5 1/2 hours of sleep. I arrived at San Diego Airport with about 2 hours to spare before my flight left. after getting my ticket, which took 10 minutes, and making it through security, 15 minutes, i arrived at my gate with about an hour and a half to spare. i was to tired to take a nap so i went to McDonolds to ... read more

Hey hey everybody! We're here in Colorado Springs. Today was another long day of driving. We left Topeka this morning at 6:10, and drove across Kansas, and for those of you who don't know, there's absolutely nothing but flat land in Kansas, so it was a very boring ride. We ended up on this little two lane highway and passed a sign that said 'No Services for 70 Miles.' It was definitely a very long 70 miles. So, for those 70 miles we helped Jesse count the antelope, and finally we arrived in Colorado Springs about 4:30. We got our room, unpacked, got ready for church, and went to eat. We had plans to go to Seven Falls tonight after going to church, but we're all so tired we're just ready to go to bed. Tomorrow ... read more

At The Foot of the Mountains Saturday May 22, Kelly met me in Garden City at my hotel about 8am and helped me pack my car and his for our trip to Colorado. We didn't really know where we were going, but it would be either Colorado Springs or Denver and their surrounding areas. I checked out and we headed to Scott City where we dropped off my car at his dad's house for the few days we would be gone. They were getting their house sided and his step mom was very nervous because already the siders had made 2 mistakes. Anyway we got what we needed in the car and headed west. We didn't have to decide which direction to go until we got to Kit Carson. Arriving at the point of decision, we ... read more

May 16, 2004 Road Trip -- Colorado Springs, CO Suzanne, Nikki, and I loaded the van about 8:45 am and headed out west toward Colorado Springs. Let me tell you it was a ROAD TRIP! We were on the road 5 hours there and 5 hours back! We only got to spend 3 hours actually in Colorado Springs, but it was better than spending the day in the hotel room. We passed though several very small towns on the way there. Stopping in Kit Carson to get gas at a convenience store that had a neat little shop in it where you could buy outdoorsy house decorations. They were very expensive. I got my post cards there. Then it as on the road again. Arriving in CO Springs we were hungry and didn't want to spend ... read more
