My bags are almost all packed. I am about 85% done. In a few minutes I am due to check in on our flights. In a few hours I have my pre vacation mani/pedi scheduled. And later tonight we have to bring the dogs to the breeder for boarding. That is the most difficult thing to do in preparation for this "Epic Anniversary Adventure. I am so excited I am beginning to squeak. Well I better get busy with it.... read more

For our 25th wedding anniversary, my wonderful husband and I decided we were going to go on our "grandest" trip to date. We decided on the region of the South Pacific. And of course we decided to go by cruise ship. We love cruising. On Halloween we will be flying from Phoenix, Az to Hawaii. We will be staying a couple of nights in Waikiki and then boarding the cruise ship. The cruise will take us to Hilo,HI, Pago Pago America Somoa, Suva Fiji, Turanga New Zealand, Auckland New Zealand and onto Sydney. Where we will spend a few days before flying back to Hawaii. There we will go through customs and spend the evening before coming back home. 26 days and nights. Along the way we will be crossing the International Date Line, the equator ... read more

My friend Dave and I went on a photo safari today to the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert, Arizona. We are both curb side photographers, and were favored by the board walk with railing at water’s edge by a duck filled lake. The fowl entertained us with acrobatic flybys, take offs and landings. The preserve is a 110 acre park organized into various vegetative zones that range from marshlands to native riparian and upland vegetation areas. Almost 200 species of birds have been identified in the preserve, as well as all sorts of critters from fish and amphibians to jack rabbits and coyotes. So, during this winter snowbird trip to southern Arizona, I’ve enjoyed photo shoots with two of my online photographer friends; TJ when in Tucson, and Dave in Gilbert / Mesa. And I’ve bagged some ... read more

Hi everyone! I am excited to share another adventure with you. An old student and friend of mine, Becky, and I are preparing for another trip. This time to Maui, Hawaii. As i rarely do anything like most people, perhaps you may be interested once again in my travels and trevails. To catch you up on things, here's what's been going on: I went to visit family in Kansas and during that time decided to buy a small rv trailer. In the late fall i purchased one and it became home. I planned to live in it and travel as needed. Now, i was very excited about this as i have not had a home of my own for over 14 years (i think it's been that long) and though this was nothing fancy it was ... read more

For starters, thank you all for the support and prayers related to my fathers passing. After about a month sitting around my home, doing DIY projects...Dave and I decided to continue on our journey that we had planned. Unfortunately, we missed Malaysia, Singapore and Bali, but we are going back to see Australia and New Zealand. We decided to make a pitstop in Arizona, where some of my family lives, and see this beautiful state for a few days. My 2 directionally challenged cousins picked us up at Phoenix Airport, kidding Chris and Shea. When we arrived to the house, my Aunt Joyce had a full lunch prepared and we did as we always do...eat! The next day Dave, myself and me 3 cousins took a drive to Sedona, also known as the red rocks. We ... read more

(by Terrie) Hmmm. My physical placement is resumed back to my home, to my beloveds, to my life as I knew it, and yet nothing is, or ever will be the same. On the microcosm, it feels a little disorienting to be back in the United States where the flow of traffic is opposite to that in the United Kingdom and The Republic of Ireland. How quickly my senses became accustomed to driving on the 'wrong side' of the road! But more significantly, on the macrocosm is where I feel that my senses continue to metamorphosis. It feels large and wide sweeping; influential on all levels of my being; both known and unknown, seen and unseen. To interject humor borrowing a country-western parody: you can take the girl out of Ireland, but you cant take Ireland ... read more

Hello everyone! Well it's been a while, so we thought we should post a blog to mark an anniversary, even though we haven't been up to too much... Can you believe that last week marked 2 years since our arrival in Arizona? We finished our round the world trip and landed in Phoenix on Tuesday 17th October 2006. In many ways it seems a lifetime ago, but sometimes it seems like only yesterday... So 2 years on, where are we?? Has our 'new life' lived up to our expectations? Well, we have a lovely house that we could not have dreamed of owning in the UK, we have added a four legged friend to the family, have made some good friends, have a more relaxed way of life and we own 2 businesses... & so we ... read more
