In all good faith and with reasonable cheerfulness three delightful persons and myself have united intention, effort, and resources to make a three month, or longer, spiritual sojourn to Europe - specifically Spain, and ultimately Portugal. In my many years of study and subsequent years of service none, I think, is as memorable as now. My companions are no longer students or clients, but friends and peers. Now we have set forth our vision and are having a lot of fun as we begin the task of educating ourselves about England - our first stop, and Europe in general. We plan to leave the middle of September with the barest of essentials and the hugest of smiles. The members of our party have varied interests, so we will make forays to other countries to support ... read more

Hi all, Well Rosie's visit (Ginnie's mum) has come and gone and Ginnie is now en route to Argentina for a visit with her family. As I write she is in the air on her way to Dallas, to connect through to Buenos Aires. Her flight was delayed leaving PHX, so we're hoping she has time to make her connection - hopefully she'll have about 30 mins, she was meant to have 90 mins! Anyway, Ginnie is away until May 1st and I'm sure she will post some pics and a blog from Patagonia when she gets back. In the meantime, Andy, a good friend of mine from Bristol, is coming out to keep me company whilst Ginnie is away. Andy came out to see us last year and obviously enjoyed himself as he's making a ... read more

Hello! A few people have asked to see pics of the new house, so this seemed a good place to put them up! It's a bit of a public forum, but what the hell! Our first visitors have arrived - Nicola was here for a couple of days after working in San Diego for a week, she left yesterday and Rosie, Ginnie's mum, arrived on Tuesday for a couple of weeks. So the guest bedrooms are already in good use! And the pool has had it's first use too, even though the water is a refreshing 74f! Hope to see some more of you here soon! Love Dave & Ginnie... read more

Hi all Most of you know by now that we have a dog who has adopted us! Maverick is a 9 month old long haired pure-bred German Shepherd puppy that we got from a rescue. He spent the first 7 months of his life doing precisely what he wanted when he wanted - he was left outside and was not trained to do anything! We have had him a month now and before he came to us he had never been walked on a lead, taken to a park or experienced anything of city life! He didn't respond to his name (which was Moon!) and didn't know sit, or any commands as he's never been taught. The biggest issue we have is that he's not been socialised with other dogs so he doesn't know how to ... read more

Well the 'holidays' are upon us and we have a visitor for a few days. Nicola (Rupert's wife) has been staying with us since Tuesday. Nic came over to work in California for a few days and flew in to see us for 4 days. She flies home to England this Saturday. So whilst Nic has been here we took a trip up to Sedona and went for a hike. The weather was perfect, about 70f/21c, and beautiful blue skies. For regular readers of this blog, I don't have to talk too much about Sedona as we have been up there a few times. Read some of the old entries if you want to know more about the place. We had a great day as the pictures demonstrate, finished off with a steak at the Pinnacle ... read more

And, as Sally pointed out, in USA years she is only 1! This is the first birthday that she has spent in the country of her birth! Many thanks to those who have sent cards and gifts and called to say hello! Unfortunately I had a pretty stinking cold, so we couldn't do much on the day, in fact I spent most of the afternoon in bed. But I had booked Ginnie a 90 minute massage which she really enjoyed and then she spent the afternoon 'pampering herself' with a long bath and a facial; then did her nails! As I still wasn't up to much in the evening, Ginnie went out for dinner with Sheila and Clare which she really enjoyed. When she came home, ... read more

Hi all It's been a while since our last update, but we have now settled into the house - been here 10 days and it is finally coming together - just need a few more things for the walls and we will be set! Quite a few requests for some pics, so loads attached! Spent 3 days putting patio and ofice furniture together which was no fun, but it looks nice now it is all up together. The best part of the house for us is the 'yard'; a great pool and lots of space - good not to be overlooked either. Also good to have our own office, so we can close the door on work when we want to... and yes I have been working! So all in all, everything is great here. ... read more
