"Remember happiness is a way of travel, not a destination". Well after a u-haul effort to get us to our new condo (as Ray coined it), we're here and settled in for our last few days before returning home. This place is just a fantastic peaceful haven as previously mentioned of tropical sounds and nature with the nicest luxurious accommodations. We all had a great swim in the pool which was so refreshing after the packing up and moving, followed up with a stay in the Jacuzzi & then drinks on the terrace. It's so tranquil here; it's very private and we just walk out our sliding door to the pools and Jacuzzi. We had a lovely dinner at Wicky's with the ocean waves rolling in, the trees wrapped in lights and the sound of music ... read more

"Be still. The quieter you are, the more you can hear."~ We made a really good decision to head back to Isla Mujeres yesterday and Ray & Pat joined us. It was threatening rain at 8 am but by the time we hopped on the ferry it was steaming hot. We all sat up on the deck top, and enjoyed our quick trip across to the island with the ocean colors dazzling us while a fine mist brushed our faces. Smiles could be seen all around. From there we got two golf carts; one bigger than the other with four seats facing forward. I can't say these carts were as good as the ones we had the first day; they didn't have the pick up and go we wanted but they in the end got us ... read more

"Sun is shining, weather is sweet. Makes you wanna move your dancing feet". I think if I pasted in the same blog each day that it's fun, hot, soft sand, pool, and ocean, great food, music and company, you'd might never notice the difference. I feel I'm boring you with some of the days as if we're on repeat! After the island tour, we were beat from the feet up. I was so tired from cruising the island that I think I thanked the microwave for heating up Ava's hot chocolate! Thursday was relaxing with Al having another dive where he saw a lot of marine life. In particular, huge crabs, lobsters & moray eel, and a large stingray, barracuda and huge freakin' lion fish. Now if you have read anything about lion fish, they are ... read more

Carpe Diem - Seize the Day ~ Well it's safe to say we "seized the day" yesterday by going to Isla Mujeres. We had thought we'd found paradise at Yal Ku lagoon and in Akumal but let me tell you, OMG, Isla Mujeres has it beat hands down. By far the best excursion yet. (I think you will really enjoy our pics and video!) This beautiful island combines the beauty of the Caribbean, the dense tropical jungle and the wonderful heritage of the Mayan civilization. It stands out as one of Mexico´s natural treasures, a truly delightful paradise on earth. In addition to its beaches and the stunning natural architecture of its cliffs, Isla Mujeres has archaeological sites and marine parks with incredible natural reefs. It was literally like we had entered a magic land where ... read more

Here are some videos of our specky-tacular day at Isla Mujeres at the turtle farm. I hope they load OK for you...sometimes youtube & vimeo can be slow. Retry if you don't connect. Will send them in batches. Thanks for the comments on the blogs; hope you're doing great. We're off on another excursion tomorrow. I think back to Isla Mujeres to maybe overnight there...who knows :) https://vimeo.com/70131651 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYjZj9k9Ofw... read more

Patience ( noun) The most important ingredient for dating, marriage and children. (See also "tranquilizers") Well it's Miércoles (Weds) and we've herding everyone to get their bathing suits and sunblock on, and our backpacks filled for our trip to Isla Mujeres today. Our van will be here at 9:30 am so it's hustle time. We're really looking forward to a day on the island. There's lots to do and see, including a turtle farm, snorkeling, an underwater sculpture park, beaches, marine life, beach side cafes etc. We'll rent golf carts while we're there to see the entire island. But in the meantime I'm asking, "Rory do you have a towel"? "Ava do you have your bathing suit on"? "Al do you have money"? "Lara have you eaten"...Ahhh motherhood and all its glory. It's an operation getting ... read more

One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach; one can collect only a few, and they are more beautiful if they are few. ~ Now where did I leave off? I think Sunday night when we enjoyed another rab-tab fabulous dinner out at Calle Ocho. We enjoyed garlic shrimp, Rib eye steak, and grilled herbed chicken. The chicken was crispy on the outside, very well-seasoned (from someone who thinks they do a good job on seasoning) and with some crispy potatoes and salad. We enjoyed an acoustic guitar player and he played sax too and I LOVE the sax! His mother was a famous singer in Mexico but I did not get his or his mother's name. I will do so next Sunday night. We enjoyed a free round of margaritas and mojitos on ... read more

This is THE life (sigh). If there's a better life somewhere else, at this moment I can't imagine it and hell one shouldn't be too greedy should one? It was one of our better decisions to vacation here in Playa. Ten more days to go...sheesh, talk about hard work :) Hard work is trying to keep your straw from flying out of your margarita glass on the beach...now that's work. OK you guys are going to kill me right now, unless some of you are experiencing the same fun times on summer vacation. It's RELAX-VILLE here right now...How do you get to RELAX-VILLE you ask? Drive to the airport, take a flight to Cancun, and within 45 minutes arrive at Luna. Go through the gates, take a right to luxury then then a left into RELAX-VILLE ... read more

Happy Monday (Lunes to you who know Spanish!) SO how's life at home? (Some of you haven't received my blogs; rest assured they are there, they might be in your spam. If not, click on the last entry in your email and hit "next entry"). Just a quick few pics; specifically these two. You gotta love a) having maid service but more so when b) they leave towels made into mermaids on the girls beds (also using Kleenex for parts of it!). Awww isn't that swell? Got a blog coming soon but off to have a coffee on the beach. The sun off the ocean is almost blinding this morning and the waves are doing happy flips. Beach is busy, sky is blue and going to sit on the beach and watch the world go by, ... read more
