I can remember the first time that I was going on a real vacation. I think I was about 11 years old and I was going to Disneyland with mom and my brother and my great-granny. I couldn’t sleep for days. My brother had matching twin beds in his room and we’d lay and talk all night about what it would be like when we finally got there. What rides we were going to go on, how much candy we were going to eat….I was so excited that it almost consumed me to point that I couldn’t function. I kinda feel like that about this trip. Well the consumed to the point I can’t function anyhow. It is less than 24 hours before we go and I still have so much to do….but can’t seem to ... read more

Wow, what a night! Before we are even in India, we have our first taste of how things happen in India. Our itinerary, which was confirmed and 50% deposit paid over two week’s ago, has now had to change. It now turns out that all details were not confirmed in India. Our overnight train journey from Jaisalmer to Jaipur, an experience we were really looking forward to, was not booked. It turns out we are not able to get on this train. After numerous emails and telephone calls to the tour company during the night, and Sam loosing his temper with the agent, we had to change our itinerary. CANCELLED JAISELMER….BOOKED AMRITSAR. The down side is we had to cancel our much anticipated dessert city of Jaiselmer. The upside is that we now get to visit ... read more

The unseasonably warm tempuratures in BC this summer have brought unbearable heat, since nobody here owns an air condtioner, but it also brought something else....BLueberries! and lots of them. I have never eaten so many in my life as I have here, I mean buckets of them. Today to cool off we went to Golden Ears Provincial Park to swim at Lake Alouette and the river flowing out of it. The water is literally a blue-green colour and to swim with mountains on all sides around you is spectacular. The water is usually very cold, but thanks to the warm weather it was just perfect. "It's usually like a slurpie", my cousin likes to say. Down the river some people were jumping off the 10 metre high escarpments, other were tubing and others were just relaxing ... read more

Ic... read more

Courtney and I are sitting here at the computer and the anticipation is growing. We all just finished school and we are making our last minute preparations. Are you packed Trev?? Are you kidding, we still have 6 days. It is not even the morning of our departure. We have gone and purchased our Euros, 4 of the 5 travellers have packed their bags and we have checked our flights and accommodations. We can't believe that it has come so fast. We welcome all of those that would like to join us on our journey. This recording of thoughts, ideas and pictures is just as much for us as it is for you but we welcome conversation and feedback. Trev has just experienced one of the most emotional weeks of his life and he is filled ... read more

This is the beginning of our adventure. We have been planning our trip to Greece and Turkey for the past 5 months. We leave in July and are continuing to research and get excited about getting back into the "travel" mode. Life is great in B.C. but we sure love the adventure and fun of visiting new places and meeting new people. We are just getting the feel for recording our thoughts and information this way. So, "Let the adventure begin." Yeah, Dad!! Now we have to wait another 3 months. Come on, let's go outside and play!!!... read more

My Adventures Begin Alright, so I am on my way again on another adventure. Only this one doesn't involve books and homework! I can do what I want, when I want (Well, as long as my friends are OK with it, and with my mother's approval!). The Plan? Backpack around Europe (some of it anyways) and see as many archaeological sites as possible while hopefully having some fun and meeting some great people. I'm heading off to London today to hang out with my family and get some quality visiting in before jetting to Paris (thats where the good times with hostels will really begin ) I'll keep you all up to date as I go, depending on the pricey Internet cafes, and my limited funds. ... read more
