I know it has been a long time since I've updated, but as of TODAY I am officially finished with school for the semester. Now that I'm done with all of my final papers and don't want to leave my room since it's raining (big surprise), I finally have a little bit of time to share what I've been up to in the past few months. This trip to Wales was the first trip I took after getting settled in London, It's taken so long to write a blog entry about it because I've been waiting for the photos from an underwater camera to get developed. A group of newly aquainted friends and I were offered a special deal to attend the "Preseli Venture' outdoor high adventure camp, and went on a weekend long trip ... read more

Well … my 9 months of travelling came to an end 4 weeks ago. I spent a lovely 5 days in NYC, kicking back, visiting a few restaurants and bars, plus preparing to rejoin the work force. Scott took me out for a fabulous night on the town for another, and not final, 30th celebration; a few cocktails at the Flatiron Lounge and then The Public for dinner. My return to London and work got slightly delayed due to a huge storm that rolled in across the East Coast of the US; all flights out of New York were cancelled, crazy hey. And there I was back at work… I am going to keep up my travel blog for exciting weekends away and travel in Europe, and potentially further a field, until my next big extended ... read more

We went to St Davids in south west Wales for Easter. We stayed at The Waterings B&B. We had stayed there before for Nick and Vicky's wedding - so we knew that we had a great place to stay! It took us over 5 hours to get there due to the amount of traffic on the roads, we also stopped for about 40 mins for lunch. Once we arrived we took a stroll into St Davids and down to the Cathedral. It is such a pretty area with the Cathedral tucked into a small valley, it has grass around it and grave stones, and looks really pretty in the sunshine with the hills and countryside behind it. There is still a crane behind it too, and work is still going on at the Bishop's Palace. ... read more

Girls getaway to rest, relax and have fun! Nels, Amy, Lisa and I have just spent a wonderful weekend away at Lisa’s family’s brand new log cabin, in some tiny Welsh village, near St Davids (UK’s smallest city!). I’ve had such an expectancy for this weekend, and it was more then met. On Saturday we did a lovely long coastal walk, stopping at the little bays and beaches, skimming stones and having some unhurried DMC’s, while “aweing” at the beauty around us. That night while spending time with God and praying for each other, He arrived in a way that none of us had really experienced before. I have just been so amazed at how our huge and amazing God who created the world and has so much on His hands to worry about, would ... read more

February 2007 Hello Bo & Dud, February already!! I can see that the next few months are going to zip past leading up to our great adventure. Half term came around very quickly and so we had our first outing of the year to North Wales. Fortunately, we were able to get away before the snow brought things to a halt in Derbyshire. We had a sprinkle of snow, some dull days and a little rain, but a couple of sunny days which more than compensated. I’ve not visited North Wales for more years than I care to remember. I spend some memorable times in Rhyl when I was a teenager and got my first Bra there from M & S, when I was 13 years old. Rhyl is caravan static city and is obviously the ... read more

We had been planning our trip to Tuscany for ages. Moving to the UK to travel and then being held back from going overseas had been so frustrating. So a trip to Tuscany was well overdue - and just what the Doctor ordered. Well if you haven’t’ yet heard the sordid story I’d better take a step back. As you probably know I have an EU passport. Through me, Brendon can gain EU residency. Before leaving home he applied & got an EEA spousal visa. The final step to his EU residency was simple - or so we were told - just send in our passports to the UK Home Office within six months of arriving in the UK & he’d get a nice rubber stamp. Hah! Have you seen the state of the public service ... read more

Well mum and dad turned up all ok and in one piece after a few days in bangkok before flying into London. I went to London, spent one night with them, then they hired a car and dad actually drove out of London to Bristol!!!! I think mum nearly chewed off all her nails, but we arrived with out actually taking any wrong turns!!! On the Friday we took off to Wales and to the B & B we were going to stay in for the long weekend over here which actually falls on Jule's birthday!! We were going to meet his mum and dad which I think all went very well. The B&B was quite a cute little place set on 20 acres, we actually took all three rooms, so we had it to ourselves. ... read more

Welcome to Wales, the land of tongue-twister words (i.e Milford Haven in Welsh is Aberdaugleddau, and Wales in Welsh is Cymru), hedgerows and castles... Later note (17/07/06): I'll publish what I've got now, rather than waiting until I can upload everything, as I have no idea when I'll be able to. Ciao for now from hot and sunny London! ... read more

Our good friend Nick got married to Vicky on Saturday 6th May 2006 in his home 'city' of St Davids in Pembrokeshire, Wales. We drove down on Friday, we left home at 10 and got there at just after 2pm. We checked in to our b&b and then walked around the smallest city in the UK. St Davids has a cathedral which gives it the status of city - but it is really a tiny little place - a bit more like a village! We could walk easily from our b&b, The Waterings, to the cathedral where they were going to get married, and to the hotel where they would have the reception! We have been to St Davids before with Nick some years ago for New Years Eve, and I had been as a child ... read more
