Here I send you some pictures of my last days with you. I am very happy to have met you and I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all you! For me it was like a mini Erasmus. I enjoyed a lot and I learnt a little of english and a lot of irish culture! Helena, Ed, Deck, Alan and Gary, my house in Barceona is yout house! I hope to see you soon! Next week I won't be in Barcelona. My company thinks that I love travel so they decided to send me to Normandie (Le Havre) during this month but if you wish you can stay at home ( Isn't it Syvie?) without me. Gary: I think you arrive to Barcelone next 29th. I'll be ther this day, so it will be ... read more

So... having travelled through eastern europe, we decided to recouperate at casa quickfall, in the gloriously splendid and exotic west wycombe (if you don't get the joke, you should use google maps). Andy and Lorna were perfect hosts, and we lounged around for several days, taking it easy, watching TV etc. They cooked a couple of good meals and it was great to have some quiet catch up time with them and get to know them both again... or something. Spent a lovely anniversary dinner at Christine and Paul's... newly doomed cousin Ken made a showing after battling the flood-afflicted train system... for those that wander aimlessly through the days without a care in the world (that would be Dave, Ian, Nate, and a few others perhaps), this was our SECOND anniversary! We have been married ... read more

The majority of Saturday I sat back and relaxed and met those staying at the hostel. Glen is one of those piss in your pants from laughter kinds of people and he was a blast to be with. I also met Annie from West Virginia, Caroline and Nick from Wisconsin (or as Glen calls him,"Cheese." I walked with Annie down towards the market and we stopped at Joe Watty's on the way where a few folks she knew were playing music. She ran back to Mainistir house and got her fiddle then came to join in with the others. The played Irish tunes and Annie was very good at the fiddle. Loads of people were continuously crowding around and taking pictures of everyone. Afterwards I went to Spar and bought pasta to make dinner. At ... read more

Hurling, sushi and surf. Europe » Ireland » Limerick By AlbertPMJuly 6th 2007 Hi Friends!! A long time without news.... There are some photos of the two last weeks. As you will see I'm having fun here in Limerick. Gary is carrying me everywhere as if I was his girlfriend ( there is no sex, yet...) First you have some pictures of a very important match of Hurling, one of the Irish sports that are surviving from the times of Celtics. You can also see some photos or a Japanese party. They are friends of mine at the English school. The food was delicious. Hanako and Taichi were two of the cookers. Congratulations!! At the end you can see images of the last weekend we spend close to the B... read more

Biking, first Lock-in and sailing... Europe » Ireland » Limerick By AlbertPMJune 18th 2007Hi Lads! There are some photos of the last weekend. This time not to much words. I'm lazy. There are photos about a litle walk I made by bike close to Limerick. Also there are some photos showing the "after Pub" at Gary's home. Finally you will see some photos of a litle voyage we made in a beatiful lake called Cutra. We thought that it was a public lake, but some arrogant english men attacked us because we were invading "private waters"( like 100 years ago....) I'm watting for your news! See you! (Sorry about my bad english....) Albert... read more

Monday 11th June Tonight Em was functioning at none other than Kensington Palace, former home of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. She got her makeup done for her and then finished her off with a big red lobster stuck on her hat. Hey, it's the latest fashion here in London, soon everyone will be walking down the road with some type of sea creature sitting upon their scone. Friday 15th June Today after work I was one of about 200 other Muse fanatics who took over Trafalgar Square for a bit of a sing along to some of Muse's most popular tunes. This was to raise money for Cancer Research and was timed to be the day before the mammoth Wembley Stadium gigs over the weekend. After a bit of stuffing around, we gathered around Nelson's ... read more

The only reason I came to limerick and have I heard one?? NO!! haha kidding, I havent heard one but its not the only reason I came... Its another stop on my Irish adventure... Limerick is the 4th biggest city/town here in Ireland after Dublin, Galway and Cork and it has that bigger city feel to it.. Must admit Ive enjoyed the smaller towns better so far, like Kilkenny and Kilarney, just the small town feel.. I dont know what it is... Well here in Limerick I took enough day trip and went to Bunratty Castle, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway Bay... Bunratty castle, not bad for a castle but ABC..... Cliffs of Moher, stunning! WOrds and photos cannot describe nor do this place justice.. It is just beautiful.. The wind here was ... read more

Went for a looooong hike through the Galtee Mountains. We hiked 16km+ and 6.5hr (including breaks) and we were able to reach our desitination...Galteemore, 919m. I think it's the highest peak in Ireland and I was dead tired. The gang had a good guide with us from work so we were able to hike through random areas we never would've found on our own. I think we took the extreme scenic route which allowed us to see the nicest bits of the Galtees. I am a wimp though and thought I was going to die on the mountain. Luckily, we found one of those fancy hiking sticks and that saved my ankles more than once coming down the mountain. There was beautiful scenery all around and sheep galore! We saw baby sheep and dead sheep ... read more

Well, I've been here long enough that my own thoughts are in an Irish accent. That is to say, about 12 hours. I arrived this morning after a sleepless flight, and checked in at our hotel - the Clarion Limerick. Hard to miss, really. We saw it from miles away and just headed in the general direction of the modernist tower over the Shannon. I don't think the Irish breakfast agreed with me. I'm a bit sick today. I must say, their bacon is phenomenal. It's like thick-cut ham. I filled up on the breakfast buffet so that I wouldn't have to worry about lunch. After breakfast, I took a short nap and then cleaned up and headed out into Limerick. Luckily there are handy brown signs directing the aimless tourist like myself to the various ... read more
